Best piece of pie I've ever had! Ice Cream at the bottom, with a surprise pie dough (not soggy!). Highly recommended.

Upon entering, we saw the lovely decor, the antique bar was so classy -we were hoping the food was as Wow as the details of the restaurant. We were so disappointed. I never write bad reviews, but for someone to not one, but two times...mess up something as simple as a poached egg? For real? I truly think whoever was in the kitchen should keep their day job. A poached egg is in Foods 101, people! The new girl made the mistake of getting caught up in the "Gosh I'm new but charged you anyway even though the kitchen messed up.twice. Really disappointing. Every staff member that worked that day should be on permanent holiday and maybe get a desk job where customer service is not in their job description. Yeow.More

every evening that we have gone to skylark we receive excellent service. last night was no exception. we chose to sit indoors, although they also have an outdoor patio option. Server was great, food was quick, and the clam chowder was delicious! I recommend getting...the grilled sourdough as an appetizer so you can dip the bread in the soup, although with so many clams and potatoes in the soup I found myself having to go back and forth between dipping and eating the soup by itself. French dip was also delicious. Dessert was an amazing lemon raspberry cheesecake and creme brulee. Great dinner, highly recommended!More

I love Fairhaven and it was nice to see shops and restaurants opening up. The restaurant was bigger than expected. The back patio would be wonderful on a nice day. Good food, wonderful variety, and great vegetarian options. Friendly service. We had a nice chat...with the hostess.More

I liked our waitress, but the food was just okay. I got the quinoa salad. Partially my fault bc I’m not a fan of arugula, but the vinegar wasn’t “sweet” balsamic, so the salad was too bitter. I ate here in the past and enjoyed...it, so I’ll just order something different next time. They didn’t have the veggie sandwich on the menu, which is the only reason I went. They need more vegan options.More

Last summer, we walked out of Skylark after a server talking on his phone, walked toward us as we waited to be acknowledged and seated, then walked past us and out the door - still talking! Today, a friend and I entered a half empty...Skylark for lunch and asked to be seated in the lower terrace area. There was an empty booth and several empty four-person tables. He indicated a two-person table but we asked to be seated at a booth. "No," he replied. "We don't seat two people in four-person booths." We left. How about teaching your Gen X staff members some basic cilvility, OR, if this is your policy in a half-empty restaurant, count me out. (I live nearby and have plenty of better choices locally.) We’ve had two attempts to have a late lunch / early dinner at skylark since ownership changed. We ended up walking out since ownership changed. This has always been a top 5 favorite of ours, so you can imagine how disappointed we are. Late fall...... we planned ahead and looked forward to dinner with mushroom soup as per the website soup menu. It’s not featured often and is one of our favorites. We arrived at 330 pm, waited for a table and were told the soup already sold out. Very poor planning! Last evening we stopped in at 630 pm. The downstairs front seating was mostly full, very noisy ... it’s by the bar, after all. We asked to be seated in the downstairs back room, which offers a more pleasant dining experience and better noise mitigation. The server refused, indicating she was closing the section for the evening. We hope the new owner gets its operational flow sorted out .... we aren’t likely to visit again unless that happens and will give our suggestion to others to take a pass and choose another option. We hope the former owner is doing well .... after 20 years of dining there, we really miss the yummy food and great staff ... he had a winning combination that didn’t apparently survive the transition.More

NO one was willing to share! Both Seafood and Non Seafood, the problem was the same,"Too Good to Share" Well cooked, nicely presented, good sauces. Honest disclosure: we did share a dessert. We could not pass it up, but Barely had room because we were...so full. Wonderful old setting for Very modern food. Side note...If you are not from the area, be careful of raised median between lanes, very hard on the tires....More
