Not a SINGLE person in our group of 5 finished there food. everything was so salty, and tasteless. The service was terrible, and our group was so excited we had waited so long to go to this place. Luckily we went early, and there was...just a short line to get in... but it was all down hill from there. The severs were less than friendly, the cleanliness of the plates and silverware and dinner was gross. and the food wasn't even that warm. and it all got served at random times... so it's not like it was held to do a complete whole table serve when the food was ready. I would never go here again.More

Frequent this restaurant often. Always take visitors to the local area to this eatery for breakfast. All enjoy the hippie association. All in our party is above 60 or 70. Takes us back to a different and enjoyable era. No more than 4 in a...group it's usually eat and get out as there can be a line to get in waiting.More

I have to say when it was recommended we go to the homeskillet, I found myself disappointed when we arrived. I hate to admit it, but at first I was reluctant to try it by first glance. Once inside, the early 80's "MTV" music whisked...me away to my high school years. I started reading all the different sayings on the wall, and marveled at all the eclectic collections of toys and pictures. Now on the table it states very plainly that there is a good chance you will have to wait awhile for your food because everything is freshly prepared. However, the server admitted that there was a mistake with our order. That being said, he was more than generous taking care of us for the mistake. The food was amazing, and more than made up for the delay. Highly recommended! Great food, reasonable price, and overall just a fun place to go to. Will return again!More

We bellied up to the bar and were welcomed by Chris. Hot delicious coffee, menu and water came quickly along with some smart humor and sincere smile. We had the smoked salmon hash, along with the meaty skillet. Both were ginormous and made with love....The kitchen interfaces well with the wait staff. Thanks also to the flamboyant Ryan for your engaging stories and your multi-tasking skills. What awaits you is a restaurant filled with helpful people who care about those they serve!!!! Don't miss this place. Thanks so much, Bill & Robbi from Kirkland....... we will be back!!!!More

The place is near nothing that would be a feeder to it - it's just so good folks have found it. I showed up on a Sunday morning about 9 am, and there was a line of people waiting to get in. The host (and...the rest of the staff) was dressed for Halloween (this is early October), and kept the atmosphere light. The décor is early progressive - posters for MeToo rallies, support for no new pipelines, and various LGBTQ causes, along with a letter complaining that the place serves cops (and a response that "we like cops, and try to connect them with the progressive element in town" - nice touch). I finally got a place at the bar, where I could watch the bearded cooks do their thing (We don't need no stinking hairnets!). I ordered the chicken fried steak, which came regular or "barnyard" - the usual breaded cutlet (excellent), with ham, bacon and sausage piled on top, and regular or Jalapeno Gravy. I got the barnyard with half and half gravy - the Jalapeno was outstanding and the regular was right up there. I ate it with great gusto, next to a frat rat on one side and tattooed hipsters on the other, all chatting amiably. Service was rushed but on the spot, and the people watching was outstanding. I haven't been in a place with such a friendly vibe in a long time, and I will definitely go back if I get another trip to Bellingham.More

It is definitely worth the wait! Fun atmosphere with pure joy oozing from the cheese-filled pores. Delicious breakfast skillets served by a staff who is singing, joking, and jubilant. You can taste the love in your food. The restaurant has a fun décor with loud...music playing, but not too loud. You can still carry on a conversation. Be warned: the bathroom is FILLED with clowns! No joke! You have got to see it.More

This place will not appeal to everyone. We went on a Sunday and it was crowded and noisy with a short waiting list to get in. The place is full of quirky art and memorabilia - check out the bathroom with all the clown statues....At the door we were met by a friendly hostess in bib overalls. The staff were all young people bubbling over with enthusiasm. The service was reasonably quick considering it was packed. We were not overly impressed with the food however. We had the salmon hash and corned beef hash and neither met our expectations. It's a fun place to visit once but I doubt we would return.More

A small, noisy, happy restaurant. Fun place to visit and eat. Breakfast and lunch only. The owners and staff go out of there way to take care of your group. The mix and match of colorful paint keeps you in an upbeat mood. Even the...hanging flowers and weird lights in the restroom put you in good spirits. If you are a visitor to Bellingham ask directions, it is worth it.More
