I came in here on a Saturday night extremely hungry. I left here still hungry. Let me explain why. I come in at 8 pm, and the restaurant is still reasonably full, but everyone has eaten. Good sign, I think. I ask my server for...a combination plate, where I could get a taco, enchilada, and tamale. I ask if I can have a fish taco, and she says they have to be made in sets of threes because of portion sizing. Hadn't ever heard that reasoning, but think it's plausible, and I'm not hung up on it. So I order a carne asada taco. I ask that my combination have a chicken enchilada with chocolate mole sauce, and a shrimp tamale. My server then delivers my plate to my table, and everything initially looks good, and server disappears. I look closer, and my enchilada is covered with red sauce. Disappointing, but I can handle that. I pick up my taco, and they only see fit to give me one tortilla instead of two. No big deal again, but the carne asada is so tough, I could have used the beef to play hockey with. I open up the tamale, and can't figure out what the filling is. I think it might have been avocado or potato, which I'm not expecting. Then I find a shrimp, which is so dry and flavourless, I wonder how long it's been sitting in their fridge. I find three more shrimp, and when I note the texture was the same as the one put in my mouth, I just left it on the plate, and moved to the enchilada. I took one bite of the enchilada, and was so disgusted at how flavourless it was, I stopped eating. I wait another five minutes before my server comes back into the dining room, and she doesn't even look at me, so I flag her down. I point out the issues I have with the plate, and tell her to get this stuff off my table, and to bring me the bill. She takes a few dollars off the bill, and I bring the bill to the host station. Person manning the station asks how my meal went, and I tell her that was the most disappointing meal I've had in months, and explain everything again. She offers a couple of perfunctory apologies, and I tell her that I won't be back. Save yourself the grief. There are other and better places in the area.More

We stopped at Tadeos for dinner while visiting Bellingham. We asked about a few items due to a food allergy. The waitress asked the cook about the items if they could be made without "bell Peppers" he assured no problem. Our meal arrived and it...was covered in a sauce with bell peppers. Luckily i had not eaten it, I asked the waitress about it, and she said she would have it remade. The meal was remade, however instead remaking our order, chicken Enchilada, cheese chili relleno and shrimp tamale, we got a Spinach filled Chili relleno, POTATO Tamale and a chicken enchilada filled with green peppers.I told the waitress, who said that cant be, because they don't have spinach chili rellenos, or Potato Tamales... What brought us in was a review of seafood mexican, what we ended up with was a meal made out of spite by two be gruntled cooks. I would never go there again, and would not recommend it. How very sad for the owners of this restaurant, that two employees can ruin a business. Our waitress turned out to be the owners daughter.. wow better get a stronger manager. I would have fired the two cooks if that was my parents restaurant.More

Family affair!! This warm family owned Mexican eatery is a local gem! Pollo a la Diabla US$14.95 5/5 stars Spicy! Tender! Succulent! The chicken breast done perfectly to keep the natural juice inside while its cooked in a tomato chilli sauce. Carne Asada US$14.95 4/5...stars Tender, juicy grilled beef served with rice, beans, guacamole, green onion, jalapeños. Hearty and fulfilling, with my choice of flour tortillas, makes a perfect fall dinner! Flan US$5.95 2/5 stars Dessert Flan, sorry to say is not up to standard, way too over cooked and hard. I may be comparing it to Spanish or French version but still not to my taste. Being in the downtown core of Bellingham, this is a great place to come and feel the local vibe and enjoy some Mexican hospitality!! Final Score: 3.6 stars Verdict: Recommend!More

Great tamales, great beef soup, lots of vegetarian options. The “secret sauce” was a bit too creamy but the servers were super nice and accommodating.

A family friend recommended this eatery and actually we had driven by it a hundred times. I was particularly intrigued by the promise of BBQ goat. We started of with the usual nachos and salsa and a happy hour marguerita. In the kitchen the cook...was singing along with a Mexican track, and that is a good sign (unhappy cook, then anything can happen -- ). I had lamb tacos although I would have preferred goat (you see I have this goat on my mind). My partner had the quesadillas but said she preferred them more crunchy. The tacos were fine and I rate the whole, experience as one point better than the food from this group I had at a wedding earlier. For Whatcom County area I would probably count this as one of the better Mexican restaurants.More

This little hole in the wall has very good Mexican food. This restaurant on Holly St is clean with the typical Mexican decor. Service is good and friendly and the food is very very good. Portions are huge and they make their own tamales and...tortillas. I was impressed with the huge meal of enchilada, tostada, enchilada meal, normally with rice and beans. I opted to skip rice for more beans and I had a huge platter of food. All for only $13.00. Real bargain! I'll be back to try more of their menu items as well!More

The food is fantastic and cheap. It's also one of the only Mexican restaurants that offers horchata so that's a plus. The service is incredibly friendly and attentive to water and chips/salsa needs. I will say though, after going to Tadeo's for 4 years now,...they have a tendency to mix the food up with other people at the table so make sure you check that they got your order correct. Overall, it is a fantastic experience for the price that you pay.More

I've been walking by this restaurant for the past six months and finally tried it today for lunch. BEST taco salad I've ever had. Very fast service and really nice, friendly servers. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Bellingham area and maybe...the best food downtown.More
