We had a wonderful slightly spicy fish dish in broth, the best smoked tea duck we have ever had (it was moist and meaty), a very spicy chicken dish, plus vegetables and some cold appetizers that were displayed in a refrigerated counter. This is an...excellent restaurant with gracious service.More

I really miss the kind of Chinese food I got when living in Singapore and Spiced fills the gap! Usually only Chinese people eating there which to me is a great sign. Garlic Szechuan chicken is excellent, not too spicy but a small kick. Fish...hot pot is amazing but if you don't like spicy food it's not for you - it has both numbing and hot spices/chili which hits you after you've swallowed - perfect for me but wow my whole head sweats when I eat this stuff. Same with the chicken with chilis, only for the lover of spicy. Lots of milder dishes on the menu that are great, it very clearly shows heat rating and numbing rating, so don't be put off. Note they don't accept Amex.More

My husband had ate here with work buddies and loved it, so he took the family to share the experience this time around. I have not tasted Chinese food this good since I've come to live in Puget Sound. It is across from Crossroads mall,...in the same strip mall as Radio Shack. Not too small, but not big. Not too fancy, but clean and great staff. Menu is endless. And everything is good and tastes authentic. Very large portions for the price. You will go away happy! (they even had frog)More

The place is doing brisk business so it doesn't need my recommendation. But it irks me to read so many reviews from people who simply come in expecting an Americanized fare. Even though the restaurant is named in Chinese after an Yunnan dish, it's run...by a Sichuanese family (maybe not very professional in serving, but sincere and hard-working) and serves south-Sichuan (Chongqing) style food. Authentic, homey-tasting, and very reasonably priced, since the portions are huge. A good assortment and good ingredients. I've been to better Sichuan restaurants -- in Vancouver, on the east coast, in Beijing, and in Sichuan... But if you're in the Seattle area, do yourself a favor and try at least once real Sichuan food (as long as you can take serious spice). I'm basing my review on about a dozen visits.More

Ordered the cumin lamb. Every thin slice was 90 percent fat. After bring the pieces to a chemist I wrote the Seattle Times. At the restaurant they said this was how they prepared the dish. What a lot of crap. I had this plenty of...times not only at this restaurant but at Seven Star Pepper in Seattle and the Szechuan Palace in Bellevue and the dish was always lean thinly sliced pieces of lamb. Little did I know was that the restaurant was closed by the health board in Seattle last Thursday. The owners are corrupt, untruthful, and the kitchen premises filthy.More

Food is good, didn't expect that much leftover, if you are up for some flavourful dishes this is the place to go, just don't order too many dishes if you are going with friends. If I live close by I will definitely go back again....Wait staff are not very friendly but we were in good mood and company so we didn't let that bother us.More

I probably should not be expecting good service here if the claim to fame here is sizeable portions and spicy food but some common sense is definitely warranted. We were not seated after waiting for 10 minutes even when there were empty tables. Service personnel...just walked by without trying to make any eye contact. My friend walked up to one of the staff and asked if we can seat at a table that was empty but the answer was "you need to wait". Another person asked what we need and we said a table and then he vanished for about 5 minutes. Eventually, we decided to walk out.More

The area around Microsoft is loaded with top quality Asian restaurants kept on their toes because of the competition and Asian born. The food here is very good. As the name suggests, very flavorful, with most dishes various degrees of hotness (to pain level), but...even the non hot dishes are full of flavor. Usually full, wait staff and ambiance pretty nondescript. Many unique dishes. Try it, You will not be indifferent.More

Came and dined here a lot of times and I like its food, in particular cold dishes, rice noodle and dry pot chicken.

Spiced is aptly named and might be addictive. While they've toned it down just a bit since first opening, portions are still generous and flavors intoxicating. In some dishes the aromatic Szechuan peppercorns do indeed "make the mouth numb" but their food is about much...more than just being "hot." If you balance your order well, you'll appreciate the depth of their offerings. Spiced is resaonably priced so a good strategy is to order more than you need, sample many dishes, learn what you love, and take the surplus home.Keep an eye on neighboring tables for further clues, It can be loud, but that's how it should be in a place like this.More

I had the chili chicken and she tried the tea smoked duck. Both dishes tasted great, maybe a little bit too much salt in mine. The staff had difficulties understanding us; we had to ask twice to get water. Our dishes literally arrived ten minutes...apart. Sometimes we had trouble getting hold of staff at all. The decor is functional. I like that they have round tables with a raised middle.More

I lived in Taipei & Beijing for 6 years and have eaten at many Chinese restaurants throughout greater China, as well as San Francisco, LA, NYC, London, Montreal. Spiced Restaurant in Bellevue is, hands down, the best Chinese food I've eaten at a restaurant outside...of Asia. The atmosphere isn't so great (although it's very authentic), but the food is just fabulous.More
