We hadn't been to Cantinetta in Seattle for quite awhile, but we went recently, and all four of us agreed that it isn't what it used to be. We each had a different pasta dish. Whether the chef changed, or the recipes changed, we will never know. All I can say is that we were all disappointed.

We recently visited Cantinetta. Our server was a lovely young lady named Erin. She was great and very helpful with the menu. We loved the bread and actually had two servings! We did have reservations, and decided to sit outside since it was such a lovely evening. The inside does look very nice and romantic. Since we got there a... More

We came for an early mid-week dinner without a reservation and were seated with no issues. Started with a glass of wine, shared a starter of grilled/charred octopus ($14) that was excellent, really enjoyed it, came with a tasty chick pea puree. I had the spinach ricotta gnudi for main course, like gnocci with a tomato sauce ($17). It was... More

On trips to Italy we sometimes found the best food at simple trattorias. Cantinetta gave us that feeling. We shut out the busy world outside and dined on delicious, fresh, simple fare that transported us abroad. Creamy polenta and grilled asparagus for starters (outstanding) with homemade garganelli and lamb sausage for our main. A perfect Dolcetto d'Alba to accompany this... More

First time at this restaurant and went in with high hopes. The service was very good, not hovering but attentive and efficient. The food was just good not great. Specifically The spinach Gnudi was flavorful but dry and not enough sauce for the serving,. The polenta was not as rich and creamy as it should be, but both dishes were... More

My husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the interesting menu and looked forward to trying a nice variety of items. We ordered a few appetizers and my husband ordered the special a house made pasta with sausage and ramps. When the entrée did not come as was offered and presented the server was very dismissive to... More

Yes, Im a food nerd. So when I go to a restaurant and the server tells me there is a special with ramps, Im stoked. Yes ramps, those highly seasonal, foraged-sourced wild oniony/leek, yes please! The server indicated that it was paccheri with in-house made sausage with ramps, so I was all in. The dish shows up and there was... More

This was my 4th or 5th visit to the Bellevue location of Cantinetta. The food and the people ensuring we have a wonderful meal continue to impress. Meat lovers will enjoy the beyond-ordinary choices, while vegetarians will appreciate clearly-noted, and equally inventive options. The wine list presents a good balance of Italian and Pacific NW by-the-glass and bottles, and the... More

Cantinetta is by far the best Italian restaurant in Bellevue and environs. The food is classically Italian with a contemporary twist. I've been several times and all the dishes I've had have been excellent. Nice atmosphere albeit a bit noisy. Be sure to make a reservation.

High end Italian restaurant on Main Street in old Bellevue. Nice atmosphere, but the high ceilings make acoustics challenging - hard to hear your fellow diners. Food: I had the duck breast - it was tough, though the skin was nice and crispy. I suggest chef try sous vide cooking the duck breasts. The potato gratin was very nice, though,... More
