Perfection! The innovation, the quality....on a different level. Omakase in Japan is traditional, this is fusion and taste of a different caliber. Never realized that an egg can be taken to a level surpassing ingredients costing 10 x more.

Was there on Friday night for my birthday celebration. Price seem very high and my expectation was set for Michelin quality food. However, the food was very average at best, the wait staff did not even explain what are the shashimi are being served for...the moriwase. I was wondering what type of fish was being served. All I saw was very mediocre selection of yellowtail, tuna, salmon. Ordered Unidon for my rice course, but what was served was mini don with cheap uni that was runny. Was it too much for me to expect Hokkaido uni at this restaurant? Finally they served a complementary cake. While I was eating the cake, I noticed fungus growing on the side of the cake and called the manager, manager immediately took it back to the kitchen and claimed it was gelatin. Didn’t offer any apology. He continue to state, if you get sick, we will take care of the expense. I do not know how they chose the manager, but he definitely don’t have a tact or experience to deal with obvious issues of food quality management. If the restaurant is willing to serve a cake with mold on it, definitely this restaurant cuts corners with more expensive ingredients. This ruined my birthday celebration and left a very sour note to the dinner. For sure I will not patronize this restaurant and willl advise people against it.More
After I was first introduced to Japanese food at the age of 8 years old it was my choice to always have Japanese food on my birthday. Now at the age of 51, there has been many enjoyable birthdays. I have to confess that I...have not been to a Japanese restaurant for the past 6 or 7 years. Yesterday brought back so many great childhood memories and reminded me of what I have been missing. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g58349-d12228595-r874848217-Minamoto_Japanese_Restaurant-Bellevue_Washington.html#More
Excellent restaurant! Definitely my favourite sushi spot in Bellevue. Perfect for date nights or group outings. My favourite things to order are the truffle fried rice, gyoza, and fantastic and crazy toro roll but you can’t go wrong with anything else on the menu! The...omakase tasting is also very delicious. Cant forget to mention, how great the service is here also. The manager Andrew always makes us feel very important and provides excellent service. The experience wouldn’t have been as great without him. Thank you!More
1. The food was OK. It was not bad but the flavors were weak. 2. The service left a lot to be desired. We were seated promptly at our reservation time of 7:30 on a not so crowded Sunday evening. The host took my drink...order at the same time. I ordered the Manhattan from their cocktail menu and I proceeded to have a conversation with my teen daughter..and you know how much they speak. Roughly 15 minutes later someone came to take our order. Chicken Karaage, Spicy Dancing Shrimp, Crunchy Ocean Roll, and Wagyu Fried Rice. 3 of the 4 items were served in a reasonable amount of time. However, at 8:30 I was still without the cocktail and the fried rice after mentioning it twice to whomever would check on us. Would I eat there again? Maybe. Perhaps it was just a bad night.More
Beautiful setting and delicious lunch. We ordered the ramen, toro/uni hand roll, foie gras/uni toast, chicken karaage and tempura, a glass of Chardonnay and Japanese beer. The service was first rate and the ambience was beautiful. This is our second time back in a month...and will return again soon.More
Fantastic, authentic Japanese cuisine. The sushi is unmatched. Every bite was perfection! I was there for a business lunch, but will certainly return in the future!
Meal was excellent and so was service even with this Covid Pandemic. Menu was varied esp. the sushi rolls.
It's really hard to find good Japanese food in Bellevue that is not sushi or ramen specific, or that won't break your pocket book. Minamoto has excellent food all-around and while it's a little more expensive than a "cheap eat", the quality of the food...is worth it. The crab appetizer is excellent, and the ramen is way better than what you normally get. I've eaten here twice and the service has been excellent. As important - it's not loud. Many places you go to these days are so loud it's hard to have a chat, and Minamoto is much more conducive for meetings, etc.More
Thanks so much! We can't wait to serve you again.
We had a wide variety small dishes. The sushi and some of the early dishes in the course were great. At the end we were getting full so not as enjoyable then. They automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill at the end which...was a surprise and I wish we had known beforehand. I think tip amounts should be determined by the customer. They validated our parking which was appreciated.More
Thank you! We really appreciate your generosity. It's always nice to know that we are moving in the right direction.
The nigiri omakase was excellent! Worth every penny. Started off with a Kumamoto oyster topped with Ikura, followed by 3 courses of nigiri. All excellent. Fish just melts in your mouth. Probably the best sushi I’ve had in Bellevue. It’s expensive but worth it for...a special occasion.More
Thanks so much for your kind words. Hope to see you again soon!
Not sure how the reviews have been high. Our experience was quite bad. We got dropped off at a table and no one came to greet us for quite awhile. When the waitress did show up, she dropped the cocktail menu in front of us...and immediately asked if we were ready to order drinks. Really? Couldn’t give us s couple minutes? She obviously didn’t want to make a trip back to the table to allow us time to look at the menu. So she walks away annoyed and doesn’t come back. I had to flag her down to give her our drink order. Many moons later the drinks show up and my girlfriend’s tea was barely lukewarm. But since she took off immediately and refused to make eye contact with us, we couldn’t tell her what was going on. About 20 minutes later we finally ordered some food. When it started to come out, my food came out first and my girlfriends didn’t show up. I sat for TWENTY minutes trying to flag her down. Eventually I had to literally talk very loudly across the restaurant saying “Excuse me” to get her attention. She said she’d check on it and never came back. We waited even longer. Turned out she screwed up the order and didn’t put my girlfriend’s order in. Mind you, this was my girlfriend’s birthday dinner. Eventually her food came almost 40 minutes later. Our drinks were empty and she never asked if we wanted anything else. I had to ask the table busser to order me another drink. Of course he wasn’t happy about that. All in all it was a 2 hour dinner with 20 minutes of actual eating. To add insult to injury, I made arrangements ahead of time to have a birthday dessert for her. I told them my girlfriend was lactose intolerant. What did they bring out? A single scoop of ice cream and something that looked like a flan. Ridiculous. Thanks for ruining a special dinner dinner! I won’t be back.More
We are truly sorry, hope you come back and give us another chance.
Great service, sophisticated place. They know what they are doing. Try the soft shell crab maki. Yum.
Thanks so much! We can't wait to help you again.
I had Scallop Shitake Mushroom Soup, Raw Oysters and Nigiri sushi. All good taste, knife cuts and service was excellent.
Thank you so much for your great review! Please give us the opportunity to serve you again soon!
Transplant is all the more problematic, with no good taste, poor service and no dessert menu. I've never seen such a restaurant before. The transplant sugar was good at first, but the second one is really bad.
