This is a popular place and the staff was friendly. The hot dogs were good, and the large order of French fries was plenty for the six of us. The milkshake was not as thick as we had hoped.

Employees were nice and staying on top of the crowd. Not a lot of seating so be ready to wait. Food was good. Loved that they have an old school Slush Puppie machine. If you're looking for a ton of variety, vegetarian, or healthy then...this is not the restaurant for you.More

Service was great. Loved the atmosphere. However, just didn't see what the hype was. Hubby said he'd prefer a Sheetz hotdogs. Tasted like a hot dog can get about anywhere. Crinkly fries were good and they don't skimp on them.

Quaint little place that writers have written about, and many people have commented on. A friend from work's honest appraisal (mehhh they're okay) made me put off the visit for a little bit. I finally went just to satisfy my curiosity, and make my own...judgment. He was correct: They are okay. First things first: A single chili-dog is going to cost you $3.69. With taxes it's right at $4.00 for a single pink hotdog. The buns were not steamed. My wife commented that you can buy a whole package of Nathan's all beef hotdogs for the price of one hotdog here, and Nathan's are much higher quality hotdogs. I wish I could give the place higher marks, but the price point kills it. I have eaten dogs from: Franks (Outerbanks), Chicago dogs, Corner Doghouse in Bristol, Buntings drugstore hotdogs, Pals chains, Berkshires custard stand, and many many others. $4.00 seems excessive for the fare here. Many of the others I listed are just better, and cheaper.More

Our first visit to Whytheville included a stop at Skeeter's. We had BBQ sandwiches which were quite good. Generous quantity of fries. The walls are covered with historic memorabilia which was fun to review. We were glad we stopped for lunch at Skeeter's.

Nice red hot dogs from the old days. Nice steamed buns. The slaw was ground too fine for me but flavor is nice. Chili did pretty good. Story behind the place is worth the visit. Wytheville to the Whitehouse. Only in America.

Stopped overnight in Wyethville on our way to Myrtle Beach and thought we would try some local fare. Went to the World-Famous Skeeter’s—what a horrible experience! The food was microwaved and still disgustingly cold. None of the dogs had what we ordered on them and...it took over 30 minutes to get the wrong food. Nat a single order was ever made correct. Gave us a hot dog (not what we ordered) free as compensation. Two of the servers were fighting with one another right in front of us. Two of us spent the next day with horrid diarrhea. A great big YUCK!More

We decided to stop here for lunch one day while walking in downtown Wytheville. It is a very unique and wonderful place to enjoy a lunch away from the ordinary "fast food" places. The waitresses were absolutely great and friendly. Do not miss an opportunity...to experience a great local store.More

Highly recommend. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly!! We were on a couples weekend shopping trip. Stopped for a quick lunch. Didn't have to wait long for our slaw dogs and fries. Fries were perfect and the dogs were delicious!

We stopped here for a quick lunch on the way to our hotel. It’s a cute little place, in the middle of a cute little town. While the staff was very friendly, they didn’t pay much attention to our order and it wasn’t accurate. I...would have expected a bit more considering the place was not busy. We were not thrilled with the food itself either. The hot dogs were decent but the fries seemed like they were right out of a bag. Perhaps it was just an off day but I I was disappointed in our first time there.More
