Best Spaghetti

Not much on spaghetti in restaurants. Most of us have our own favorite way of making it at home that just works for us. This place has the best spaghetti Bolognese that I have ever had in a restaurant. Me and friends of mine love getting there spaghetti for dine in or carry out. Very tasty dish. The subs are good from here as well. Steak and cheese and Italian sub with the works is always good. I have seen a sub from here that was not up to par and we called them and they made it right. As long as they keep loading up these subs, my friends and I will frequently stop in here to grab some of the best subs in the valley. This place has been here for years and there are still people around here that have not tried it out. Great food and usually busy with loyal customers. Hope it remains as special as it has been for years.

Umberto’s Pizza and Pasta for the win!

This unassuming restaurant is found in a strip mall . We were greeted by a young woman as soon as we were seated. She took our drink order and returned promptly. We both ordered subs. They were full of meat with a wonderful roll. My husband ordered the special , an Italian sub with steak fries and a large drink for 12.99, a good value. I had the steak and cheese without lettuce and tomato, but added banana peppers and mushrooms. The sandwich came out exactly as requested, hot and delicious!

Decent Food Horrible Service

This place needs to improve their service. It is horrible. It is painfully horrible. We were the first one there and the server was a young adult who acted like we were causing him to do work. Never refilled our drinks. The food was good not great.

Terrible customer service and employee; Please read!

Had a mouth set on steak, pastrami, and pasta dish. Arrived at approx. 4:00 pm today (5/27) for carry out. So glad I did not call it in. The man in the front of the house was answering phones, scratching his head and started on peoples orders without gloves or hair cap all while was standing there. Then he went to the freezer to retrieve fries, some falls on the floor he then placed them back in the bag. Then with his filthy hands grabbed the fries out of a white bucket and put them in the fryer. Then asked was I really to order, I said "" NO and why aren't you wearing gloves. He look at me and waved for me to leave. Terrible, I will never return and sorry their was no manager around that I could speak with. Wake up to those who call in.

Did not receive my entire order did not make it right

The food here is good but everyone who works there speaks very little English so I order online. Did not receive my entire order. Doordash is who delivers for them it was a sealed food order they told me to call Umberto's. And they said they sent everything and refused to take care of the problem cost me like $8 for what I did not receive. I believe this mostly to be a cause of lack of communication. Very little English

Going downhill

This spot was one of the best in town but things have gone south. We ordered for delivery and got it in 30 minutes as promised.. My Italian sub looked good but there was something on it any true Italian would cringe at. Mayonnaise! The menu says oil and vinegar and did supply it but mayo is like ketchup on a hot dog. Shame on you. Problem two was the calzone was way undercooked and the crust was doughy in places. It was white as a sheet. We hope this is not the downfall of a place that was very good in the past. Time will tell.

Catering order disaster

I placed a $1,500 lunch catering order a week prior to the date through EZ Cater. The order was accepted. The food was supposed to arrive by 11:30, but no food arrived by that time. I was told by EZ Cater that there was a “miscommunication” by the restaurant and they thought the order was for the next day, even though they confirmed the order for the correct date. I was told that they could still send the order, but that it would be another hour. The office staff said that would be fine. Long story short, after many conversations of “the food is on the way” it did not arrive until 2:41 pm. The icing on the cake: two delivery people arrived and neither one of them offered a word of apology. Literally nothing. The only reason I am not giving them one star is because they did finally deliver and the food was good. I would never consider using this place again.

My son and I had lunch here today. Stumbled across this place when visiting the new sportsman's store. We got two subs and onion ring. Everything delicious and service great.

At Umberto’s we had a very good, very large meal. The Bolognese sauce was very good. The veal parmigiana was also good. Friendly service and a good value.

Locate in a strip mall, this restaurant provided us with a very enjoyable dining experience. Food was delicous, service was friendly and pricing was reasonable. When of if we are in Winchester again we will ceratinly stop here

A gem revealed by our motel receptionist.

The owner was originally from Italy, we were told by our waitress. The food was very original and most flavorful. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Our waitress took very good care of us. We had a most tasty and unique Lasagna dish. The salad was very good and made of a varity of lettuces other than iceburg. The dining area was much like you would find in Italy in that it had the apperance of sidewalk dining.

Treat yourself to Umberto's

I stopped overnight in Winchester, Virginia on the way to Faber, Virginia in September of 2019. After settling into my motel, I went for a walk and stumbled upon Umberto's Pizza and Pasta. What a stroke of luck! I ordered the "eggplant parmesan" and within 5 - 10 minutes was treated to a gigantic, heaping, steaming-hot serving of delicious eggplant parmesan and pasta along with a roll. The freshness was super and flavor delightful. The staff and ambiance of the restaurant were very pleasant also. The restaurant is just a few minutes from exit 313A on I-81 in Winchester. Thanks Umberto's!

Great flavors, great service

Ohhhh the bread!!!!

Found Umberto's on Trip Advisor - we're in Winchester often and like finding and trying new places to eat. Umberto's in now on our favorite list. Nice menu selections, very good prices. Great service, nice staff. Serving size was large enough for us that we got two meals for the price of one. And the bread sticks they serve are outstanding.
