This was our third time dining at La Tienda and I can't wait to be in the Williamsburg area again so I can try more of the menu. All the tapas were very good. I consider $77.00 for six tapa plus two flan for dessert...to be quite reasonable. Yes, it would be cheaper in Spain but this is not Spain. Service from Carol was excellent.More

I read about this place. I checked the website. I had high expectations. While i was at the place i learned that all what is advertised in the website is not available in the market. Seems to be managed separately. We ate at the restaurant....The Menu is limited. The gambas al ajillo were very good. The croquettes of cheese were also good. The tortilla española was so so and the aioli needs to be improved. The greatest disappointment was the sea food paella. The fish had no taste and so the shrimps and squid. It didn’t taste as an authentic paella. Traditionally, the real paella has the socarrat which is the crusty crispy bottom that becomes caramelized and toasted on the bottom of the pan when it is cooking. To be a signature dish of Spanish food we were expecting a well prepared dish.More

Went to event sponsored by Diamond Resorts. I thought the food was generally very good. But, when I saw a menu and the prices, I liked the meal much less. I probably would never go on my own initiative.

Just had family dinner at La Tienda Tapas in Williamsburg. My food review is high because of the wonderful gastric experiences. I wanted everyone to taste the depth and complexity of Spain’s authentic traditional foods prepared fresh on site. So we started with the cured...meats and cheese tray with sweet Spanish almonds, peppers, and grapes. Next up were several tapas: bacon wrapped dates with melted underlying cheese; garlic butter large shrimp; and, thinly sliced sautéed eggplant honey glazed. We ended with a single shared chicken and pork sausage paella. The paella could have had just a little more bottom crust. There was a flavored crust that developed on the side of the skillet but a little more would have been perfect. Don’t forget to order red or white sangrias with your meal.More

I've been to Spain. This is good place if you can't goto Spain. We could bring our dog and eat outside. Great service and food. What else can you ask for in rural Virginia?

My husband works in Williamsburg and drives by the restaurant every day and has wanted to go for months. But. . . we live in Smithfield, I work in Smithfield, we put in 60hr weeks and are raising 3 kids, so a "date night" in...Williamsburg is hard. Life is hard. Last night we went to pick up bees (which is a spiritual experience in and of itself). My Mom had the kids and we were going to enjoy a beautiful spring evening together on our way home at what appeared to be the most perfect small plate, large wine spot. We walked in at 8:02PM to be told they were no longer seating guests (closes at 8 although Yelp & Trip Advisor says 9) . The disappointment was real! Good food and good service is the magic formula for restaurant success. The hostess had to have seen the sadness on my face. What I want La Tienda (and all finer dining) to understand is that they are in a service industry where small decisions can bring so much joy and/or so much anxiety to our society. Making the right decisions is the only way to success. You made the wrong one last night and missed a wonderful opportunity to bring joy to a customer who otherwise had the potential to sing your praises and come back to support you. The community is small, the effort is small, the impact can be huge. Disappointed!More

Whoever says is worth paying the amount they ask for, is out of his/her mind I am from Spain and the prices are not high, but abusive. I am all about people earning money, but this is greed at its best. Tapas are between 1...and 3 (Euros), and they charge almost $20. The same goes for the Tortilla de papas. I could keep adding examples exposing how abusive owners of this "place" are when it comes to prices.More

I've been waiting to be able to go to this restaurant for months and it most certainly did not disappoint!! I absolutely love finding authentic food from other countries. I have family that lives in Spain and have tried several different foods from there and...I was excited to try some new things and also to have some more of the meats that they've brought from over there. Our waitress Karen was incredibly friendly and was absolutely wonderful. We ordered some Sangria (a white and a red) and both were great. I really wanted to try the paella there but opted to order many smaller things to be able to try as much as we could. We ordered the frittata, a cheese and meat plate, the fried eggplant with honey, and the absolute best pick of the day - patatas bravas. Oh my gosh, those potatoes were amazing. They were cooked to perfection. The perfect amount of crispy on the outside and a heavenly sauce!!! Patatas bravas is a must order if you go here! We also all wanted dessert so we ordered an almond cake, flan, and churros. All of those were excellent as well. It is a little pricey here, but it is 100% worth it. The quality of food that you receive is incredible! There's a shop there as well. We purchased some ham, bread, and garlic aioli. We unfortunately live just over an hour from this place but it is absolutely a place that we would make a drive to only come here for. If you are anywhere near Williamsburg, you MUST eat here! Buen provecho!More

Ate there as a couple after a round golf. We have the habit of ordering specials. We ordered two and they did not disappoint. I wish I could remember our waitress she was so helpful making choices. And we ordered the paella. Add sangria. We...devoured it all (ravenous after golf lite breakfast). And we always get something at the shop.More

We love Spain and tapas so we seized the opportunity to enjoy a light meal at La Tienda after an afternoon at Busch Gardens. We were seated promptly even though they were busy. The restaurant has a choppy layout with multiple eating areas. We were...in a back area with small tables and a bar. We ordered garlic shrimp (a popular tapas), a charcuterie board and good Spanish bread (Galician bread) with olive oil. There is NO KIDS MENU! We ordered the shrimp because we had it several times in Spain and we loved it including my son. This shrimp was spicy! We were not expecting that and truly never had it spicy in Spain. Luckily my son was happy with the cheese and meats and bread. The charcuterie board was really delicious and offered excellent Spanish cheeses, chorizo, I Erico khan and sausage (salami). I was excited to enjoy a Spanish beer (Estrella). The waitress was okay. She was far more interested in the table with the larger crowd eating a big pan of paella and drinking wine.....I guess the bigger tip was a incentive to give them plenty of attention. She barely spoke with us. I would recommend La Tienda and would try it again, despite the first experience. I do recommend reservations.More

Yes, they do have pottery, remember it is a tapas & wine bar and has a Spanish grocery. Well worth a visit.
