Chelsea was a first-class server. The entire experience was so very nice. After leaving the first restaurant because we couldn't have a nice table without reservations, we were welcomed here by the the entire staff we encountered. I had the in-bone pork chop, and my...husband had the cuban sandwich. Outstanding, and the we finished with dessert (chocolate toffee ice cream cake with oreo crust - to die for!!). This is the way to start vacation and I can't say enough about the experience. We'll be back!More

My parents live in Williamsburg and have loved this place. We went a few days ago and it was so disappointing. My father has been I’ll and the only thing he wanted was the bacon wrapped scallops and he was told, “they’ve been off the...menu for a while.” Use a sharper to scratch it off. He did not ask for a coke refill, was brought one and was charged for it. It’s not the $2, it’s the principle. The “skewer of shrimp” was five small, with no skewer to be found, for $12. There’s so much potential and so little execution. It’s too bad, it’s a great location and there’s opportunity to treat locals well.More

Went there for dinner with my daughters. We are on vacation so we rely on Google, Trip Advisor etc. to pick out restaurants. This one was great. We all loved our meals and the prices were reasonable. The server was very personable. Would definitely recommend.

This restaurant is within walking distance of the many residences in New Town. Not fancy on the interior by any means. We were a party of 8 and seated right away. Our server Mathew D. met us and provided excellent service throughout our meal. His...entree recommendations were spot on. We enjoyed cocktails from the full bar also. My Crab Stuffed Shrimp were delicious. Two in our group ordered the special Rib Eye Steaks that were cooked to their satisfaction. We will dine here again when in the New Town area.More

Excellent selection of very varied dishes. Everything was fresh and tasty. The wait staff circulated unobtrusively. In addition the layout makes it suitable for a group as windowed private spaces are available.

We moved to Williamsburg earlier in the year and found a gem of a restaurant in Center Street Grill. The staff is wonderful, especially with our daughters (aged 11 and 9). The food is always delicious, and the menu gives enough options for the whole...family. In addition, the specials are always a hit! Our family had dinner on Wednesday, December 8 and Center Street was fantastic. We started with the Philly Rolls which were fried to perfection and delicious. One steak cooked perfect medium, one salmon, the tuna special (absolutely a delight) and my favorite, the Buffalo Chicken sandwich. The meal was finished with a piece of key lime pie and a special desert, chocolate pecan pie with ice cream. Center Street Grill never disappoints and we will be back again soon!More

I have never been to such a terrible restaurant. That is saying quite a bit considering all of my travels and reviews. I don’t say it often at all, but if I could give negative stars, this establishment would have received the most. Our family...had dinner reservations here on a Friday night. It was recommended by someone we encountered who was a local. The area where this place is located is in a very dense shopping area. Parking appears to be along the streets. Our first warning sign was that it was a Friday evening and the restaurant looked almost empty from the outside. When we entered, it did look very clean and well maintained. The hostess was nice and she quickly showed us to our table. Our waitress soon arrived and we quickly noted that she was not very knowledgeable about the menu and also had a poor attitude. We ordered two Old Fashioned and a bottle of red wine. The Old Fashioned was not prepared correctly at all and tasted like watered down bourbon. The bottle of red, one of the better on their list, was not very good at all. As for their food, it was terrible. We ordered appetizers, including Oyster Rockefeller, Hoisin Spare ribs, and Philly rolls. All were disgusting. The oysters were bland and had the texture of sawdust. The spare ribs had very little meat on them. One of them served was actually just a bone. The Philly rolls were tasteless and mushy. The side salads were very, very petite and were heavily salted. Their homemade dressing was pasty and overly sweet. For entrees, we had the Surf and Turf and the Hawaiian Snapper. Even though they describe the Surf and Turf as salted and peppered, it was completely bland. We all ordered all three medium rare. Two came out medium well and one was well. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, but showed up about 15 minutes after dropping off the food. She then argued with us that they all looked appropriate. Not once did we see or find a manager. The steaks were dry and chewy. The snapper was severely over cooked and tough. There was no skin on it, but the cooking process formed a skin with the meat. We tried dessert. The carrot cake tasted like it came from a freezer box. The molten cake was not a cake at all. It was a shell filled with syrup. As I walked to the bathroom past the kitchen, I saw some of the staff using Smucker’s jelly so it is likely that most of the things came premade. Overall, I have no idea how this place is still in operation. Rude staff, disgusting food. I would never wish this place on my worst enemy. -3 stars.More

My wife and I were vacationing in Williamsburg and had heard positive comments about Center Street Grill. We went on a Thursday night, when they were less busy. We ordered two specials - shrimp and scallop risotto and butternut squash ravioli. Both were outstanding! Excellent...combination of flavors; wonderful cream sauces. This dinner was the highlight of our meals for the week. I would highly recommend Center Street Grill to any foodies who want a great meal.More

We happened to be in the neighborhood on a Friday evening at about 7p, so we looked for places we might find an outdoor table. We saw this place and it didn't appear to be terribly busy, so we checked in with the hostess and...were told we could wait at the bar for 15 mins or so before being seated. At the bar we could see several people coming in and being greeted by others who were already inside - clearly, this is a neighborhood haunt. Once seated, Chelsea transferred our bar tab and took our order for the calamari appetizer. We probably didn't wait more than 3 minutes for it to come out, steam rolling off the generous platter. Dinner took a great deal longer; we were informed that there wasn't a full kitchen staff that evening, plus a huge group had ordered before us. Be that as it may, the dinners we received were excellent. The salmon dish was among the best servings of salmon we had ever ordered, and the ahi tuna was great. Still, the highlight of the evening was the calamari - light, crisp, and served piping hot! The quality of the food was such that we will return, and we hope that staffing issues will have been resolved.More

Monday night dinner, and lots of places close on Mondays, but we like to eat local when out of town, so we finally found this place and decided to give it a try. It had very welcoming, neighborhood vibe, but did not treat newcomers as...interlopers. We ate in the bar area and it was very cozy. Nikki was our server and she was superb! I had the Blackened Salmon Taco with Cilantro Rice, Asian Veggies, chopped cashews and Siracha Lime Aloli. It was very good, and I would order it again. I got a side of Sweet Potato Fries and they were honestly the best I have ever tasted. Husband got the Angus burger with blue cheese and he said it was better than any he had tasted in Williamsburg. We split a Creme Brûlée for dessert and it was also very good. My husband is a Creme Brûlée connoisseur and he said it was in the top three he had tried. Love this place. We felt like they were really glad to see us and wanted us to enjoy our meal and experience.More

Stopped here for dinner before a movie. The food was delicious. We ordered Calamari, the North Carolina BBQ sandwich with fries and the Chicken Salad sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was more than enough to fill us up. The service was great. Ashley was our...waitress and she was very friendly, along with another guy, which I did not get his name, but he was very friendly with a great personality. It was also walking distance from the movie theater and plenty of shops. Will definitely return if I’m in the area again.More
