Each time that we visit Williamsburg, we seem to eat here (15 years). Each time, I think, "it can't possibly be as good as it was before." And each time, they prove me wrong. We love the food here - from the French onion soup,...salads, fresh baguette (not complimentary), entrees, and DESSERTS - everything tastes wonderful. We dined with five family members and each of us was impressed. Highlights this time included the butter cake (nothing else compares if you like butter and caramel!), the soup, and the macaroni n' cheese in a hot pot. Can't eat this every day, but once in a while works! We will continue to be customers without hesitation.More

Food was very good and the dessert even better. Restaurant in the heart of tourist Williamsburg and shops. I recommend if you would like a French food experience .

Had reservations. Welcome was lacking, food was overpriced and unremarkable, server was a bit pushy. Very dissappointed and won't be back.

This was actually my second time here. Both times, the food and service were excellent. My husband has been raving about a salmon burger he had in Florida probably 15 years ago. He said his salmon sandwich was even better than that. This is his...new favorite. Cute atmosphere, especially if you like chickens. Great location in Colonial Williamsburg. We will be back.More

Such a terrific Saturday brunch! I had a special, Oysters Rockefeller, as well as the Brunch Cassoulet (white beans with duck confit, breakfast sausage and poached eggs). My husband had the Bistro Omelet. All of it was delicious. Isabelle provided excellent service. We sat in...the newly-opened outdoor dining area, which was shady and comfortable.More

We were a group of 16 people and Blue Talon accommodated us beautifully. The menu was extensive enough for our large group of various ages and everyone enjoyed his/her meal.

We haven't been to Blue Talon since prior to the pandemic but we had visitors from New York and Blue Talon offers a varied and tasty menu. We also had two children and Blue Talon offers typical children's entrees as well as half portions of...adult entrees for children. Food was well prepared and generous in the portions. My husband loved the meatloaf entree. My nephew had the blackened fish reuben, a very large sandwich full of fish, cheese, & coleslaw w/ a fresh side salad of baby greens. His wife had the chicken salad tartine which was a large mound of chicken salad over greens decorated w/ a sliced egg & radishes. They all enjoyed their selections. I decided on the duck confit salad - it was very tasty and I liked the salad dressing but it was overly dressed for my tastes, I should have asked for the dressing on the side. The standout to me was the children's mac & cheese - simply prepared in an iron skillet. It came bubbling to the table, lots of melted cheese & béchamel sauce. I tasted it and liked it more than the adult mac & cheese entree. The children's chicken tenders & fries were also a big hit w/ the children. Our server was attentive and since it was such a hot day in the historic area, not overly crowded in the restaurant. We were able to have a leisurely lunch.More

The restaurant is great, really good food, yummy salads... but the bartender Charles had zero personality! Really surprising, as the place is so friendly and outgoing. Maybe he had a bad day, not sure, but ZERO conversation with us, a group of three...we tried to...chat, but it was like he was doing us a favor!More

My husband, another couple and I visited over the Memorial Day weekend. Downtown Williamsburg restaurants are mostly closed Mondays so the choices were limited. So glad the Blue Talon was open because they served amazing food. I indulged with a side of mac and cheese...which was fabulous. My husband had the meatloaf which was flavorful and moist. My veal was tender and the sauce divine. My friends enjoyed the crepes and german sausage meals very much. The wine selection was good and the Manhattan was excellent. Despite being very short-staffed--they asked us to come back at the reservation time when we arrived early because they literally didn't have the staff to even allow us to sit at the bar, the service was excellent and friendly. I would highly recommend the Blue Talon Bistro.More

This location was suggested to us by a friend of a friend who had visited CW. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Jared, our waiter, was prompt, polite and informative. The Cassoulet, which says it has Duck Confit and Escargot, had three Escargot and...NO Duck Confit. That wasn't a great start. I had the Steak Diane, while my wife enjoyed the Beef Short Ribs. Nicely presented, well prepared and tasty. We shared a dessert and had some wine with dinner. Very nice ambiance and a comfortable setting. Close to Merchants Square. Can be challenging to park in the area.More
