We were looking for a place to have lunch and found this place. The wait we were told was an hour but could sit at the bar and found a place just as someone was leaving!! I think the wait was because of limited seating....Service was great and personable. I had the clam chowder, yum and my friend the French Onion soup also great. My friend said the best she has ever had. I had chicken salad and it was one of the better ones with the chicken very finely shredded . My friend had the BLT and she loved it, I would have to gone back for dinner. Since the food is French style and always my favorite. They had Julia Childs running on an old fashion TV above the bar. This should tell you their theme!More

Attractive venue near good parking in a structure. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Menu had a distinct French flair. Everything looked really good, but each item lacked salient elements that would make one say, it was exceptional. We were there on a busy night with...a large private party so the staff was stressed. the bar has one of the best selections of bourbons and also single malts I've seen in a while.More

We are outside after just a few minutes wait. I got the salmon po boy and it was so good. It was the best thing I have eaten since I’ve been in Williamsburg. Definitely recommend this place as you are touring Colonial Williamsburg

If you are looking for delicious food with excellent service, then look no further. We chose this restaurant because it was the only one that would take reservations for 10 with outdoor seating. Due to unvaccinated children in our group, it was really important to...dine outside. I was delighted to discover the food was delicious! The favorite dish was the clam chowder. But everything else was tasty too. But what really makes this place stand out is the service. It started raining at one point but we were sheltered outdoors under a tent. The kind servers had to walk through the rain to continue to serve us under the tent. When dinner was over it was still raining and Bill, the restaurant manager, managed to pull some strings to secure a private shuttle back to the hotel. Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.More

We "found" this place while visiting Colonial Williamsburg. We originally just going grab lunch within Colonial Williamsburg and quickly realized this was not going work (3-4 hour wait for lunch). We were able to walk in on a Saturday afternoon just after lunch rush and...were seated at the bar quickly. The restaurant was busy but actually seemed staff better than other places we had been. The bartender greeted us warmly and quickly and we had drinks in front of us in no time. Although beer selection was a bit limited. I had the Croque Madame which was excellent. We also had the Grilled Asparagus Salad which was also good. Glad we "found" this place as we had a quick, tasty lunch with good service.More

Enjoyed an amazing breakfast dish of salmon croquettes and eggs with baguette toast. The service was also notable. It is more of an "era" dining ambiance complete with metalware coffee cups. I will revisit the Blue Talon and would have no problem recommending it to...anyone.More

The waiter was so helpful in selecting our entrees. My husband had the specialty hamburger and I had the chicken salad. The food was very good as well as the drinks.

Place was very good. Only issue is that they are understaffed like every other restaurant in America at the moment. We waited a while to be seated for breakfast. Blue Talon was 1 of a few open for breakfast. It was worth the wait. Breakfast...was very good.More

Great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We eat there a couple times each time we visit CW. We have loved everything from the steamed mussels to the quiche to the deserts. Enjoy!

We did not have a reservation but managed to get an outdoor table after about 20mins. The evening was chilly but we were in the tent. The outdoor heaters were available but even after asking if they could be turned on, they never did. The...service was dry and unfriendly. Average food. They are supposedly know for their duck cassoulet. Two people in our party ordered that. One thought it was okay and the other could not eat it. The beans were dried out and had not broth. The duck was not really tender but served in chunks and also dry. It is served in a cast iron small dutch oven. Almost tastes like the duck was previously made and then served in the dutch oven with previously-made beans and no broth to speak of. Would not order again.More

I have never made reservations, and have been very lucky with either a short wait or no waiting time. During busy times, it might be good to make reservations. It is very popular, and worth the wait if needed. Ever meal... More
