This restaurant is reliably phenomenal. I think this was my best eating experience yet at the Fat Canary and we have been here probably 6 times over 15 years. Drink service was too slow....my only nit. I had the rock fish special. One of my...top 5 dishes over many years of dining out and not sure I could name the other 5! The special onion soup was equally fabulous. This is a not to be missed restaurant if you are anywhere near Williamsburg or frankly, good enough to be a destination!More

We have eaten in thousands of restaurants and this is one of our top places! Perfect bar drinks, try the foie gras on hazelnut toast for app, and the salmon and beef filet were perfect! We had sorbet trio and the hazelnut pie/ice cream for...dessert. Wish we weren't just visiting so we could go again, and again, and again, etc.More

We ate in the basement portion of the restaurant, nice atmosphere. The food was awesome! We had a rock fish special that was delicious! My daughter’s fries were unbelievable. A little pricy, but it was worth it. Staff was extremely polite and courteous.

My wife and I ate dinner here after a day in historic colonial Williamsburg. Given the restaurant‘s location, I was a little concerned that it may be a tourist trap and overhyped. Boy was I wrong. Everything about the place was fantastic. The food was...delicious. The service superb. Every course that we had was fantastic. We both started with cauliflower soup, which was one of the best soups we have ever had. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.More

Travelled six hours. Don't be fooled by the outside eating area as it is unrelated to the restaurant. The Ambiance is very nice, romantic, in the service was very good. Our waitress, Mazen, did a very fine job. The menu is quite varied. We started...off with fois gras and it was delicate and tasty. I had the lamb shank which was very good. The accompanying vegetables added a crunch. My date had guinea fowl. It was outstanding. The chicken was moist and the sauce very savory. The dessert menu was varied . We opted for the 4 flavor sorbet. The prices are reasonable for a tourist located near William and Mary College in colonial Williamsburg. A must eatery.More

The food, service and wine list are all outstanding! The seared fois gras and ahi tuna being our favorite appetizers, the unpretentious atmosphere filled with locals also added to the enjoyment of the meal. I doubt we’ll ever come back to Williamsburg however if we...did, it would solely be to return to Fat Canary.More

Had a really nice dinner tonight. We shared a salad...cannot tell you the exact name, it had greens, goat cheese and pears. So good. Out waiter Riley was awesome. Knowledge, friendly, and efficient. Thanks Riley! Enjoyed entrees. Hubby said tenderloin was the best he had...in a long while. Recommend for a nice meal, nice atmosphere & conversation friendly.More

Great location, arrogant staff from the host to the servers. Not clear at all why the hype, the smell in the restaurant does not say great food.

The food at Fat Canary takes center stage. Great menu and very good service. We opted for appetizers, entrees and dessert. The food was great. Be sure to make a reservation.

At the end of a busy day touring Colonial Williamsburg, this is the type of place where you can sit, relax and have a wonderful meal. It is conveniently located just at the edge of Colonial Williamsburg. On this occasion, I ordered one of the...evenings specials, a rock fish dinner. It was wonderful. Good wine list and attentive wait staff. I recommend making reservations. During this time, they are observing all the appropriate social distancing, use of masks, etc. Give it a try!More

Fat Canary is an exceptional restaurant - and will offer you a variety of options. Anything you select will meet the highest standards. It is not a steakhouse - I’m in Bangalore and jet lagged. My last response was confusing. More

That's odd, I have been to Fat Canary 3 times and each time our special occasion was recognized.
