The Cheese Shop is a local and tourist favorite for a very tasty and filling sandwich. Delicious homemade bread and a sauce so secret that a confidentiality clause must be signed in order to work there. Tip to tourists that only locals know.....call your order in a head of time. The shop is VERY busy and lines can get long... More

I had a platter with 3 different types of cheeses, and they included some meats on it. Every bite was perfect for me! My only complaint was the service. I have a rather large family, and one of the ladies behind the counter wasn't kind at addressing my family to "move" so other customers could order. The lines for lunch... More

Such a great place, BUT, do not try to go during peak lunch hours!! The sandwiches are excellent and there are good gourmet products for purchase.

We arrived in colonial Williamsburg at 2pm and this was the only place serving lunch. So EVERYONE was crammed in this place trying to place orders. The sandwiches are overpriced and once we had them there was no where to sit inside or outside. We ate in our car and we did not return to this place during our trip.... More

We had eaten an early lunch. It was about 4:30 and walking around Williamsburg had made us hungry. We went inside because wherever there is a crowd it is usually a good sign. Observing others in line ahead of us we decided to order a cheese plate. The line moved quickly because the employees were efficient. The woman serving recommended... More

sooooo good with a big variety of food. I always get simple sandwiches since I'm a picky eater but they have something for everyone.

A restaurant that is also a store, this is one of our go to places when we are in the Williamsburg area. I love the sandwiches, especially the turkey on pumpernickel rye bread. My wife had a great chicken sad sandwich on the same bread. Our son, however, had a ham sandwich on french bread that was unfortunately quite smaller... More

The Cheese Shop was great for an easy dinner (or lunch). We were looking to do something inexpensive and this was perfect. We had gourmet sandwiches - each under $10 - plus adults were able to get a can of beer and small bottle of wine (enough for a glass and 1/2 - they sold splits too); plus they had... More

I stop here when visiting williamsburg. On this visit, I ordered lunch and it was delicious. I asked the ladies to create a cheese plate for two. They had me sample a few cheeses and built a plate that we enjoyed that evening with a bottle of wine that I sought help in buying. I wanted to try a new... More
