We stopped in for a cold drink after a long hot walk and had great service. We really enjoyed Lynn and the atmosphere! The manager was awesome and gave us a brief tour and history lesson about the restaurant which we really enjoyed as well!

Like all of the historic taverns, Shield's offers great food, but a somewhat limited menu form which some people may have trouble finding something they like. But it's really about the experience, of which the food is only a part. The menus are period, or period inspired, and your server will be more than happy to help you both in... More

Share a platter or just stop by for a cool drink. This is a casual tavern and you can get right in without reservations, just time your stop not on regular lunch time

We had reservations for Christiana Campbell's and due to our flight being late we missed our reservations. Chirstiana was so nice about it -their kitchen was already closed - they called Shields tavern to see if we could get in there. Shields was so good! The place was almost empty but the staff were so nice and accommodating. Musicians walked... More

The place was like being back in time and the food was good. We were seated in the basement and there were candles burning so it made it seem even more realistic of living in those days. Service was great.

This was our first dinner in Williamsburg. It was fantastic. There were great drinks from the bar and the food was awesome. My kids both ate all their dinner, which is a rare occasion. The prices were decent as well. I really loved the atmosphere, it was like being in an old colonial tavern.

Had a delicious meal here. Food was very tasty and the table side entertainment was great (stories and music). Ambiance is great, eating by candlelight. Food is expensive though, so come prepared.

We ate here for lunch during our visit to CW. The menu has a lot of great choices and there is a kids menu too. It is not terribly priced given its tourist location but don't think it's a cheap lunch.

Lunched at Shields Tavern with visiting family. Everyone loved their lunch choices, including Crayfish and Shrimp Stew, Carolina-Style Barbecue Sandwich, root beer, Old Stitch and fantastic Whipped Chocolate Pudding. Looking forward to our next visit.
