We concluded our visit to Colonial Williamsburg with dinner at The Whaling Company. The atmosphere was marvelous, the customer service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. We started with a garden salad. Their ranch dressing is the best I've ever tasted. Then we order the tempura shrimp with fries and green beans. The green beans were fresh, the shrimp... More

My husband & I went to The Whaling Company for dinner. We loved the old world whaling theme. There was a good variety of foods on the menu, even for land-lovers. My husband had the Deep Fried Boatwright's Platter with shrimp, scallops & cod with rice & cole slaw. I had the Tempura Fried Shrimp with green beans & red... More

Stopped here after a long day walking. The service was outstanding and seafood was great. Here's what we had...Clam Chowder was fantastic. They incorporated pork, which sounds odd, but was tasty. The Fried Cod was nicely battered and so tender. Scallops were cooked with wine & garlic...awesome. My son had the Filet Mignon...it was perfectly cooked and flawless.

We went with our 13 and 15 yr old boys and had an early dinner the service and food was amazing! We had mussel app, shrimp scampi, baked seafood platter and lemon chicken salad. The waitress (Yolanda?) was so sweet and nice we really liked her!! We also saw another waiter lovingly help an elderly couple have a fabulous meal... More

First visit for our family- went early for dinner - sat immediately. Very personable wait staff- Ben and Kristen. Food was delicious and ample plates. Dessert was excellent. My father in law loved the key lime pie and the mud pie was humongous- definitely large enough to be shared by 4. This will be a definite restaurant to return to... More

I chose this resto for the walking distance from the hotel I was staying at (at least 2 hotels are very close). Just ordered an appetizer and dessert. The steamed shrimp was pretty good (but that's simple and hard to mess up). The dessert tray looked scrumptious! I ordered the apple-y one and it was yummy. I saw a couple... More

We were pretty hungry and, therefore, a bit surprised when we weren't overly impressed with the food, despite the good reviews. Nothing was bad, but no one was thrilled with the qualify.

After spending the entire day at Busch Gardens , we opted to have dinner outside the park. After eating all that popcorn, hot dog and park sugary treat, we knew we needed a good place for dinner. Seafood was the unanimous choice, and it was clear it would be The Whaling Company. The staff were overly friendly and our server... More

My husband & I had dinner there this evening. It is our anniversary trip so we chose here for dinner before we return home. I'm not a seafood person so I had their delicious French onion soup, Caesar salad & a baked potato. Husband had a seafood platter which he said was very good. It is a nice place to... More

Stopped for dinner after a day at Busch gardens. The atmosphere was so cute and the staff was beyond sweet. They seem so happy and proud to work there which is so nice to see. We had high hopes for food, as menu offered nice variety and restaurant has been around a long time. Our 3 is high because food... More
