This establishment has been in Williamsburg since the 1970's and I think they are serving the leftovers from that time period. Their claim to fame seems to be their biscuits, but I have to say they were like eating hockey pucks. The food was uninspiring and the shop just another trinket trove.

Excellent Sunday luncheon at OCH. We only waited 15 minutes for a table despite the fact that we had no reservations and it was grand illumination day. Menu is simple but delicious. Homemade flat biscuits and Virginia ham were inexpensive and filling. Quaint southern country house atmosphere. Cute little gift shop attached with many beautiful and reasonably priced ornaments. We... More

The Old Chickahominy House is one of those interesting places that is a must visit every time you're in the area. The food is of exceptional quality and value. The building is interesting. It has a general/craft store area which allows the waiting time to go by quickly. And you will wait because the place is so good and popular,... More

There is frequently a 15-20 minute wait because this place is in high demand, but it is worth the wait. The ham biscuits, chicken and dumplings, and brunswick stew, and are all good. We always get the Miss Melinda's Special, which includes a drink and dessert.

We have been coming here for lunch since the1970's. Miss Melinda's special is always good. All the pies are tasty but I like the coconut and buttermilk best. Others love the chocolate pie. Be sure to carry out some stew and biscuits when you leave.

You must visit this restaurant for breakfast to make your trip to Williamsburg complete. My husband and I have been eating here for over 40 years. You will experience a breakfast in a true colonial plantation style.

What a great little place to grab a bite to eat after spending time at Jamestowne. The family was tired, the kids were cranky, but the staff was exceptional. The food was amazing. A great overall experience and I highly recommend this place for great food and great prices.

This place is apparently a local legend and a must visit, so we met friends there. The place is a nice old house and the staff friendly. The food is quite reasonably priced but not that great. Avoid the fruit salad - Half a canned peach and a slice of canned pineapple with a bit of mayonnaise on top. The... More

Went to Jamestown and chose the restaurant based on reviews. Arrived around 1:30 for lunch and had 1/2 hour wait. This southern delight was overrated. While the ham on a biscuit was tasty the chicken & dumplings were bland and starchy. The spicy bean soup tasted like beans from a can, yuck! The BLT was good and the table winner.... More
