If this is the NUMBER 1 Italian restaurant in Williamsburg, all I can say is avoid Italian restaurants in this town.My husband and I ordered take-out, told it would be ready in 15 minutes, but although we arrived on-time, the food did not come out...for another 10 minutes. I ordered the veal marsala, and could not figure out why it had ham until I rechecked the menu, and it did say it had spinach pancetta included....never heard of it with veal marsala, which is my favorite order at Italian restaurants. I had requested to substitute the pasta with a veg, and thought the spinach was the veg, but there was also zuccini and broccoli STEMS...something you either keep attached to the florets or throw out. Everything was submerged in a soupy marsala based 'sauce', I don't know why the veg was in the same container. I said I wouldn't care if there was a slight upcharge for the change from pasta, and I would have been happy to pay for an extra container, and avoided the veggies swimming in the 'sauce'. The veal itself was thick, not pounded thin, as is usual for this dish, and the breading dissolved in said sauce. As for my husband's meal, he ordered his fav, veal parm. As with my veal, it was thick, not pounded, heavily breaded and extremely salty and he couldn't eat it and threw it away. The red sauce, what little there was, was sour. The pasta was overcooked, and ended up in the garbage, too. The meals came with a choice of salad or soup, and we both opted for salad, which was okay, but very small portions, almost all lettuces, 1 cherry tomato and 2 slices of cucumber. Although the menu did not mention bread, I have never not had bread included whether I dine in or take-out in any other Italian restaurant.More

My wife and I came here for dinner with good friends. Our server was Carey and she was magnificent--excellent service and very friendly! My wife and I both had the Veal Josephine, our favorite entree here. Our salads and entrees were delicious and nicely presented....Giuseppe's has earned the high rating they have!!More

We phoned at the last minute and were so happy we could get a reservation. We were greeted right after being seated by Joe (his son is the owner now) and couldn't stop laughing, he was so friendly. The food was outstanding...I had the chicken...Josephine which I would get again, our friends had the eggplant parm and my husband had the Bolognese. All were great, the house wines were so good also, a lot of thought went into picking them! I always read reviews before picking a place and the reviews were spot on. Definitely go if you have the chance, you won't be sorry.More

Our son has severe food allergies, Tree nuts, peanuts, legumes, soy, coconut, sesame, and sunflower. Anaphylaxis in 1 minute. Consequently, we cannot eat out. However, we decided to do a family vacation to Virginia this year setting me on a mission to see if there...were any restaurants that we could possibly visit. (normally I cook everything) Enter Christina Scordo, owner. She returned my message the same day. So personable, understood completely food allergies and the difficulties faced at times. We visited Giuseppe's both days we were in Williamsburg and considered staying an extra day just to eat there again! Family owned. We were greeted and treated like royalty! Service was exceptional. Food was perfect. Christina's husband spent 10 minutes on the phone with his supplier to ensure the pepperoni was safe!! Who does that!?!?!?!? They do!!! They catered to my son's allergies right down to the pan used. He could not have been happier!!! If you are near Williamsburg, there is no other place to go!!!!More

We thought we’d give it a try based on previous reviews. We dressed up and was hoping to enjoy the night. Our host was friendly enough but in jeans? Our waiter off the bat was rushed and not friendly(Jeremy) He seem to make judgement we...ordered 1/2 carafe of Chianti. I had to drive… Good Grief! We had the meatballs over pasta. The starter salad was overly drenched in dressing. I didn’t enjoy, my Aunt ate all of hers. We both got the meatballs, but our plates presented two different presentations! What! I? had parmesan sprinkle and my Aunt had sliced Parmesan and bigger meatballs. Mine was overload in sauce, and small meatballs. How is that possible. ? Our waiter never checked on us, asked anything! The two hard, tough rolls we got were way too hot touch, but so chewy! We had to ask a young woman clearing tables for take away boxes and the check, because our waiter ignored us! The pasta and meatballs were good… but service a huge disappointment.More

I went with the lemon flounder over pasta with a light cream sauce. The sauce had capers and sun-dried tomatoes. It was REALLY GOOD! Finished my meal with Tiramisu. Oh, and the bread was in house made garlic knots. It was simply delicious.

Delicious dinner for our family of four. Calamari, salads, and pastas were all perfectly prepared, and the owner himself was a delightful host.

We were hunting for a place to go on Sunday night and saw lots of cars but when we got there we found out that the place was closed for a private wine tasting dinner. We went back the next night and were very pleased...with the service and the food. The owner was present and greeted all the guests. Worth the trip.More

This is a great Italian restaurant. Even our picky kids were happy. The salmon was delicious. Wine pours are generous and the house selection is good. Sourdough rolls were warm and delicious. Great salads too. We highly recommend!

We try to come here every time we're in Williamsburg. Everything here is wonderful in this family owned and operated restaurant. If you want blackboard specials, they have it. If you want authentic Italian cuisine and more, this is the place. The family can't be...friendlier and we've been privileged to have had Kristen as our server on more than one occasion. She is wonderful and genuine and extremely hard working. You can't go wrong here and it should be on your list if you are in and around Williamsburg, Va. We were here for Valentine's Day and yes; it is worthy of being here Valentine's Day or any other special occasion.More

Thirty years ago, when shopping at Williamsburg Pottery, we found Giuseppe's in a strip mall. Now it is located near the outlets. But the food has not changed. Four years ago, I moved from Jersey to Virginia and I find it difficult to get good...Italian food like in Jersey. Well, Giuseppe's is where I find it. The house salad with vinaigrette dressing was crisp and fresh. The pappardelle bolognese was outrageous. And the tartufo was absolutely delightful! I went to an early dinner, and Joseph Scordo, the owner, came over to greet me and chat for a few minutes, so I didn't feel that I was just a customer. The only downfall is that I live 45 minutes away!More

We travel to Williamsburg often and each time we visit we make sure that we eat at Giuseppe's at least once. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is great and the wait staff is always fantastic. This past weekend we had Susan as our...waitress and she definitely fit in all of the above great categories.More

Very nice family Italina Restaurant located about 3 miles outside Colonial Williamsburg. Fantastic service, comfortable and friendly atmosphere with a limited but diverse menu. Full bar with a great selection of wines and cocktails. The mozzarella is homemade and delicious. The pasta is fresh, and...the food is very good. Our waiter, Jeremy, was personable, friendly and very attentive to our needs. Our new favorite Italian Restaurant when we visit Williamsburg. If you are in the neighborhood, give Giuseppe's a try, you'll enjoy the food and the experience.More
