People who like small portions artfully presented will rate this restaurant higher than I did. The menu isn't very extensive and the only sea food on it are poached oysters and scallops - no fish or shrimp. We visited on a Saturday and the place was very busy. Still it shouldn't take one full hour to deliver salad and soup... More

Came here for restaurant week after not having been here in several years. The ambience is lovely and our waitress was excellent....all in all this is a very "special occasion" dining experience. The food was absolutely stunning to look at, and beautifully plated. Unfortunately, the flavors were unremarkable. The lamb tartare was so beautiful to look at, but it really... More

Three of us had dinner during "Restaurant Week." After the starter course it took over an hour to get our main dishes. We suspected and it was later confirmed, that a couple who came in after us, and ordered two of the same dishes as us, were served well before us. When finally served, you could tell the 3rd dish... Pricey but spectacular! Very exotic menu cooked to perfections. Breakfast is also amazing. The croissants are beyond compare.

My friend and I had dinner here while we were staying at Wedmore Place. It was definitely the best part of our weekend in Williamsburg. The service was excellent; our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly, a great guy. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the neighboring Williamsburg Winery's wine. Cafe Provencal of course had plenty else to... More

This is the best restaurant in Williamsburg, bar none, and we have eaten at nearly all of them multiple times. We visit Williamsburg from DC often, and Cafe Provençal would be both packed every night and three times as expensive in metro Washington. Our meal tonight was amazing from start to finish, and that's what we expected. It's been so... More

We booked Christmas dinner here as we spent the holiday weekend at Wedmore Place. My husband and I were absolutely blown away by this 4 course meal which was delicious, elegant, and beautifully presented. The chef made a first course of butternut squash bisque (an ordinary restaurant item typically) into an exciting plate. A silky soup had a toasted sage... More

My husband and I made a dinner reservation recently to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We had dined at this restaurant before and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, we were not aware that they had changed chefs. Our dinner was a huge disappointment. I ordered duck which I have had many times at French restaurants and always loved it. The duck... We went on a Saturday night with a second couple. It was not full so it is mysterious why it took a hour for us to get appetizers and another hour for our main course (which wasn't delivered to all diners at the same time!). We weren't offered any bread during the wait or later and the waitress topped off... More
