This was our first time going to a Japanese restaurant, that cooks in front of us. Yes we live in the country. So we tried it, while on our getaway. It was a good experience The food was ok, and the show was good. I do not think the price with tip matches, but I can mark it off my bucket list.

Shogun is the best hibachi place in vb. The sushi is even better. The sabu roll and tuna tataki are our favorites. Ask for taun(sp?). He’s the best.

Great service and really good food. My wife and I both had the steak and scallops hibachi meal. Delicious and perfectly prepared.

What a shame how far downhill this place has gone. From being treated rudely prior to being seated to having literally one of the worst servers I have had in YEARS. I will say that our “cook” did an adequate job and pretty much delivered what you would expect at this point with hibachi. The downfall was the absolute horribly rude service. You can tell by several of the other reviews that this is a trend. There are too many people out there looking for jobs to have someone waiting on customers that treats them so poorly. No eye contact. Short one word answers. ZERO rapport. And, we as a group tried so hard to engage her and to try and make it an enjoyable evening. Shogun management clearly just doesn’t care anymore. To make matters worse...the waitress actually had the audacity to remind us all that the 18% added gratuity had to be split between her and the cook so please add accordingly??? Who does that ? 18% is a very fair tip. My son works in a restaurant and the normal practice is for all tips to be split at the end of the night. So, we should tip x 5? NOPE. I added a picture of the waitress. Avoid if possible.

We wanted to have the hibachi experience at this place, made reservations to be there at 6pm. We arrived on time and waited around 10 minutes until we were told to go to the hibachi table and sit. BTW the table and menus are sticky due to build up and grime from the cooking grease and vapors.' Ten after ten minutes of looking at the menu, the waitress comes over and told us that the HIBACHI Chef was not willing to cook for only four people and that we were free to seat on a regular table. We got up and left, terrible service!.

a family group of nine went out for dinner and had a great time. We had reservations so i can't comment on the wait time, however food was great and everyone had a good time with the chef!

Very disappointing experience. Server was rude, and inaccessible when a problem with our order occurred. Hibachi chef was just ok, very little humor, we found the table next to us to be far more entertaining. The soup was unlike soup at other hibachi restaurants, tasted like Chinese soup, not Japanese. Fortune cookies were served with the bill, also abnormal with Japanese food, and my cookie didn't even have a fortune in it! And it was stale. We felt like prisoners, not guests. The other diners at our hibachi table were also disappointed.

The beef is excellent. Chicken is a bit dry. The gyoza came out as a deep fried dumplings. Overall it's still a good experience, if you have never tried it, you have to!

My fiancé and I stopped here one evening after going to Walmart. It did not disappoint! The staff was super friendly and very funny! Our chef was very skilled and he was very entertaining! The food was delicious! It definitely topped any of the hibachi places I’ve been to before! We had such a wonderful dinner!! We definitely recommend this place to anyone!

We visit Shogun every New Years Eve. Our party size ranges anywhere from 6 -30 and they accomodate us with ease each time. The servers are friendly and warm, even on the busiest of nights. The chefs are entertaining for all ages. The food is the highlight -especially the filet (melt in your mouth tender) and scallops (Large sea scallops cooked to perfection)! NYE is very, very busy and they do turn people with no reservations away. They also leave you only a 10 minute window, so if you have chronically tardy friends, prepare. (Make a 6 PM reservation and tell them it is for 5:30!) The bar has numerous creative cocktails in souvenier glasses.

This happens to be my daughters favorite dining place and we like it too. Sure there are several in this area but this is the original and has the best experience in flare dining and they season everything perfectly. I had the shrimp and filet which came with soup, salad, fried veggies and a super fried rice. Topped everything off with an all American Budlight. Doesn’t get any better than that!

Just a warning to all my friends. My daughter and her Landstown Comp Cheer Team went to Shogun last night for their end of year party and team bonding. The service was horrible, but not only were they not served professional, but 4-6 of the girls all got raw/undercooked chicken. They all complained at the end of the meal and did not eat it as well. The staff, including the manager, said there was nothing they could do, and said they had to pay full price. They were extremely rude to the kids, the coaches, and my wife when she called later that night. In short, I really do not recommend going to Shogun, they have really gone downhill from a Virginia Beach fixture.

We visited with a party of 15. Our family vacation celebration. The food was great. The only downside was the greeter was not very pleasant but the waitress and chefs were wonderful. We would highly recommend this place for a great show and good food.

My family and I have gone to many different habachi grills but this one is by far the best one yet! The food was delicious, from the salad to the main course. Everyone in my family enjoyed every part of the night there! We can’t wait to go back!
