Had high hopes for this place as we were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in which this restaurant is located. We split a burger and fries since burgers are their specialty. We ordered the burger medium and bit came out as a burnt crispy...hockey puck. Way overcooked. The fries were lukewarm at best. I asked for no onion for the burger, and while the lettuce tomatoes and onion came on the side, anyone with an aversion to onions will tell you, if a slice of raw onion has been sitting on tomatoes or lettuce, they soak up the flavor of the onion and become inedible to an onion hater. I also asked for mayo which never came. Why didnt you ask your server you might ask...well he was hard to find, never saw him for at least 10 minutes after our food was delivered. On to the beer. Lager heads. Name would suggest a good variety of craft beers, right? There were a few good ones but not many and when they arrived they were warm. We got ice (I had to walk up to the bar to get it). Our server was as dry as cardboard and didn’t enhance our dining experience at ALL. He was totally just going thru the motions and didn’t care at all about his customers. Also, our stay was in August during COVID-19, and our table was not very clean. Scary! Will never ever return.More

I was staying at the beach, and craving a good crab cake and draft beer. Lager Heads has a high rating, so I was enthusiastic. The location is excellent, and the outside patio is very nice. Unfortunately, I was told that I couldn't have a...draft beer then, only bottled. I inquired whether the crab was local. Our server did not know and was not inclined to find out. So, I ordered a crab cake anyway. It was such a gloppy mess of mayo that I couldn't taste the crab anyway. The fries were, somehow, disappointing, too. All in all, it was lovely sitting on the patio with friends, but the meal , itself, was a disappointment.More

This place needs new furniture! The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is pretty good, but nothing special despite some efforts by the chef (such as fries that spill out of a basket). You can sit almost on the boardwalk, with an...excellent view. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g58277-d6678112-r768186317-Lager_Heads-Virginia_Beach_Virginia.html#More

The first day we arrived my husband ordered takeout..we wanted a quick bite to eat..When we got my to our room (walked 7 blocks) we found our the chicken Caesar salad didn’t have grilled chicken ($5 extra and it was on our receipt) however the...crab cake sandwich and chicken fingers were good! The NEXT day, we went back..it was close proximity to my parents place of stay..ordered a beyond burger (Burger KIng made better!! IMO) and a tossed green salad with grilled chicken (it’s on option on the menu, again receipt showed $5 chicken) we get to our location to eat and guess what? NO CHICKEN! I spoke with the manager? In the end she apologized, we got a SMALL cup of grilled chicken (looked like 2oz!) BUT she comped 2 craft beers and 2 Shirley temples.More

This is the second time we’ve eaten here and it was just as good the second time around. My husband got the crab cake sandwich with boardwalk fries and he stated several times how delicious it was. My daughter and I shared the Cobb salad....The salad as so big that we couldn’t finish it. We also got the skillet cookie for dessert (even though we were overly full). It’s a soft, white chocolate macadamia nut cookie covered in caramel sauce and a huge scoop of ice cream. We had to walk the boardwalk after dinner to walk our dinner down. Service was quick, staff was attentive, and everything was delicious.More

We arrived on a Saturday and although VB wasn’t as busy as usual for this time of year many of the restaurants were booked. We put in a request for outside seating at 7:30 and it was about a 1.5 hour wait. Ended up being...an hour which was a nice surprise. Right on 33rd, you have a great oceanfront view. The menu seemed like it had been condensed as I remember more items the last time we were here. They have a good rotating list of draft beers. We ordered the Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager and a Bold Rock Virginia Apple (pretty good local Cider) Got the nachos with shrimp for appetizer. Portion was huge and perfect for sharing. I have to say these were some legit nachos. Chips were freshly made & a good balance of toppings to chips. For main, a Cobb Salad and the BBQ wings. Salad was full of fresh ingredients and again huge and the wings were tasty with a sweeter bbq sauce. Service was attentive. Hopefully they will expand the menu soon. Great food with a great view!More

Sorry I missed this. The entire hotel, including Lagerheads is very kid friendly.
