Referred here by people at our hotel. Good choice!' Steaks and seafood. Great stuff! Pleasant atmosphere. Opened up with a couple of margaritas. Then my wife started with some oysters on the half shell. Very small but tasty. I had the mahi-mahi taco and my...wife had some high end tuna, Ahi I think. Lovely presentation and the taste was awesome. Service is excellent and we seldom needed any more than a look and our waitress was at table! Only three dinners in the room but it was after lunch and before dinner in the off season, so it couldnt have been better.More

I love this restuarant. You would never think in a busy hotel on the Virginia beach strip you would have this gem, but we do. The Hilton is doing something amazing here. This restaurant is hidden off to the side of the hustle of a...busy restuarant. When you walk in you cant believe this small gem is in there encased in glass but well hidden and sound proofed very well...you walk into a beautiful restaurant with low lights and beautiful seating. This is a dress up occasion! The wait staff is perfection! The food is perfection! It is the perfect restaurant to have a romantic evening out. It's small and intimate and that is what I love. You can actually hear each other. The wine menu is very appointment and you can even see into the glass wine room. Highly suggest for an exceptional evening out.More

We use to be regulars at this restaurant....but not anymore. Ever since they had a change in their staff about a year and a half ago, they have been sliding down hill. We thought it was just a one time thing. No. Their food isn't...what it use to be, especially for the price. The service? I can't begin to describe how perfect it use to be. Unfortunately, it's below standard of any level of a restaurant. Just plain bad. I'm very sad to have to report this as Salacia was our favorite restaurant and sadly, is no longer even a place we go.More

Fine dining in a laid-back, beachfront atmosphere. Comprehensive menu with a good selection of appetizers, steaks, fish, and shellfish and an interesting wine list.

My wife and I had dinner at Salacia over Labor Day 2019. Our experience was not as good as it had been in 2015. My wife had rock fish on a bed of curried rice. The rice was awful and the fish was slathered in...butter. I had fish and chips which were OK but certainly not commensurate with the price. The service, however, was good and the ocean views were very nice.More

Lovely setting as we sat outside and watched the comings and going’s from the beach. Food was ok overall although I had to send Foie Gras back (burnt). Professional and attentive staff, good choice of wine and private dining. Expensive, so only go if you’re...happy spending $300 for a couple’s meal with wine.More

We had the Branzino fish which was wonderful, served hot , cooked nice and moist and delicious. We also had a Delmonica steak that was not hot when it was delivered to the table, not cooked to the proper temperature, and not a particularly good...cut of meat. French press coffee tasted like Gas station with a ton of grinds in it.More

We've tried this establishment two years in a row on our business trip. It wasn't a standout in my opinion. The menu is pretty limited, especially for the sides and appetizers. We tried the Oyster Rockefeller and felt it tasted fishy. Some of our sides...were served cold. The baked potato was cold and not cooked thoroughly. Our waiter was gracious enough to take it off the bill, which was not what we were looking for. The entrees were delicious and we enjoyed crab cakes, scallops and the filets. Our drinks were always full and the service was on spot. We will probably try another area restaurant for future visits.More

Dined in mid-June with my wife and had an amazing experience. The night we dined they were relatively slow and service was excellent. Knowledgeable wait staff and the food were outstanding. My wife had the filet and it melted in her mouth, I have the...grilled Bronzino which was cooked to perfection. Light, flakey and full of flavor. Lobster mac & cheese was full of lobster meat and one of the best items on the menu (next to the Bronzino). I like service that is not overbearing, but in the "wings" if needed, this is a sign of pros, not hap-hazardly running by with a water pitcher every 5 minutes, that's not service, that's just poor training. I can't believe some of these recent reviews...I have dined here about 6 different times on beach trips and will be back in about a month and will be certain not to miss this special place and enjoy another one of my best meals ever! I was a little leery when Gold Key sold the Hilton to Shamin Hotels, but worry not - the quality and service have not changed whatsoever! I have also been in some of the finest restaurants from LA to San Francisco to Las Vegas, Boston, NYC, Wash DC, Charleston, Miami, Seattle, New Orleans, Chicago, Houston, Mexico, Caribbean, cruise ships, 5 Diamond hotels, on and on...also I have been in the F&B business for over 40 years. Trust me, those reviews are bogus and not to be trusted, try it and you will see for yourself...Salacia is one of the finest. See you again in a month and to you grumpy reviewers - grow up and be honest.More

Horrible meal for such a pricey restaurant. It was my second time dining here. I came back because the first experience was good. I could see the restaurant wasn’t the same. There were no people in there at dinner time. My friend ordered foie gras...and had to send it back because it wasn’t cooked enough. Our steak was okay. Nothing to brag about.More

The restaurant probably enjoys the best location on Virginia Beach. We sat in the outside private dining area for two people where the views of the ocean at sunset were spectacular . Our waiter, Trey, was courteous and attentive, who constantly discretely monitored our needs...for further drink etc. The lobster tempura was delicious, as was the Branzino and baked potato. Would highly recommend for a romantic or special occasionMore

Salacia is really well known for its seafood and steaks, and the menu is always changing. They do have items like grilled asparagus. The restaurant also shares space with another, more casual restaurant called Catch 31... More
