We went for a friend's birthday celebration, it was my first time (but the others had been there before.) Every single morsel was scrumptious, beautifully prepared, and lovingly delivered by our impeccable and charming waiter, Steve. My fish was perfect, and I normally don't love Brussels sprouts, but I definitely loved these! And the gluten-free chocolate torte was just divine.... More

My wife and I have been hearing and reading great things about Terrapin, so we recently dined there on the occasion of our 31st wedding anniversary. We are so glad we did! When we arrived, we were taken directly to our table, and after our server took our drink order. Shortly, we were presented with the evening menu, and were... More

We took our friends from New Zealand for an 25th Anniversary Dinner on the recommendation of of a work colleague and we weren't disappointed. We each had the tasting menu and shared great salads and soups for a first course, Rissotto, Gnudi, Truffle Mac and Cheese and Calamari, and Lamb, Steak, Pasta and Duck Entrees. Desserts were delicious. All the... More

Ventured out the night Hurricane Matthew came through Virginia Beach. It's so difficult to get reservations, I didn't want to miss out! Everything was its usual "great" except the portion of my husband's lobster pasta entree. Very skimpy...especially for the price. I love the farm to table ethic and the local sourcing of foods. It was a memorable evening when... More

Stopped in for dinner with the family. Enjoyed the duck, steak, scallops and fried chicken. I do wish they had a few more "meaty" appetizers, however we did enjoy the octopus, green salad, beet salad and mac & cheese. Wine list was small but serviceable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good service, for example, they wouldn't clear any plates... More

I have been dining at this wonderful restaurant over the course of 10+ years they have been open. I have brought family and friends here, and everyone has the same experiences that I do. This is a family owned restaurant, and chef Rodney Einhorn is superb! He and the restaurant never fail to excite me; from the greeting at the... More

We had the pleasure of having dinner at this restaurant on Saturday 11/12/2016. This was my first time dining at this restaurant. We chose it because of the farm/sea to table element and their real efforts to support local farmers and fishers. I highly recommend the 4 course dinner and wine pairing. Every dish that we had was amazing and... More

A little pricy but the food is amazing, they put a lot of effort in the details which I like (the non alcoholic beer "clausthaus" was the best I have had. Took the lady wife here for date night. The reason I gave it four stars was the chocolate dessert was nasty. I do not know what happened but it... More

We've been dining at Terrapin for several years now, and it never disappoints. It's one of the best fine dining restaurants we've found in the area. (The Cellars is the other.) The service is exceptional, and the calamari was probably the best we've ever had -- crispy & tender. I always get the beet salad and sometimes get the scallops... More
