Our breakfast stop whenever we visit VB. They’re operating at 50% capacity right now and the wait on a Wednesday late morning was only 20 minutes.
We’ve been here a few times now over the years and have our favorite items. Spinach Florentine Omelet is amazing! Cooked perfectly with a mix of veggies, bacon & feta.
The Sampler breakfast also gives a good mix of delicious items. French toast, chocolate chip pancakes and Belgian waffles never disappoint.
A beach tradition that we always look forward to visiting. We’ve always had excellent service from friendly and upbeat servers. A food network favorite that lives up to the hype!

The food at Pocahontas Pancake, and waffle House is excellent:)) the service was excellent, the food came out quickly, hot, and fresh. The portions are large. My wife, and I ate breakfast there three times while at Virginia beach. Everything that my wife, and I ordered was absolutely wonderful. My wife ordered the Salmon Egg Benedict the one day, and it was Amazing. This restaurant is such a great deal, it's cheaper, but yet larger portions so I was leery when she ordered a dish with Salmon. The Salmon was very Fresh, it was smoked, and absolutely delicious an expensive restaurant couldn't prepare the Salmon any better. The Pancakes were so fluffy, and so delicious. I ordered an omelet two of the days the omelets were so good. The coffee is excellent everything was reasonably priced even on the cheaper side. For what you get the prices were so cheap. They Open at 7:00 A.M. and your going to want to get there about 6:55 during the busy season or sooner because people would for sure be lining up outside waiting to get in. Maria, and I were there in late December during the off season, and we would get a table right away when arriving a little after 7:00 A.M. We arrived at 8:00 A.M. the one day, and there was a short wait to get a table, this was the off season so make sure that you get there early.

Great breakfast spot. Located on Atlantic Ave and a very busy restaurant. We had the gravy biscuit combo which came with 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, home style potatoes and biscuits and gravy. We also had the 3 meat omelette which came with choice of toast, pancakes or French toast. The only reason not a 5 is the pancakes weren’t hot(couldn’t melt the butter) but everything was delicious.

Pocahontas Pancakes is located at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at the corner of 35th St. and Atlantic Ave. It's the oceanfront, so depending on the time of year, parking can be hard to come by. There are some parking spaces available inside the garage behind the place (the parking garage overall is for a timeshare, but some are available for the restaurant. There is an entrance from that parking area too. We ended up coming here to try it out after being recommended by someone my mom knows. The visit here was on December 29, 2019.
When you first come in from the back entrance from the parking garage, you walk through a tipi. The artifacts inside there are real, so make sure that you don't touch them. There are signs in there asking not to touch them as well.
We went up to the front of the restaurant in order to get seated. The place was pretty busy already when we got here a little before 9 am. Even though it was busy, we were immediately seated. Within a minute or so, our server came to the table, greeted herself and asked if we wanted any coffee. I ended up going with a Pepsi instead, but you only get one drink refill here. After getting the drinks, we were ready to order. I went with the French Toast Combo with all bacon and scrambled eggs. My mom went with the Bacon Omelette with cheese. About 10 minutes later, our orders came out to the table.
When the food came out, it looked really good. The French Toast, bacon and eggs looked good, and so did the omelette for my mom. In general, the food was good. Similar to other places locally. The only issue was that the eggs seemed more on the lukewarm side for me, so it may have been sitting a bit before it came to the table. Since we never got a chance to get the server back over to the table in time, I just went with it. The server came back over to check on things after I'd already eaten the eggs and mostly done with the other stuff, so I ended up not saying anything this time.
Overall, this was still a good breakfast place at the oceanfront. I think that the servers may have been a bit overworked since it was pretty busy in there that morning. This was my first time here, so my experience on this visit could've been a fluke. Everything was good for the most part, except for the eggs. Prices are slightly higher than some other local breakfast places, but you get more here too. When I come back to visit the oceanfront during the off season, I would come back again to give them another try. If you happen to be at a hotel near this place, this is still a good place to visit for breakfast.

Food is good and servings were plentiful. I drink hot water, which I was charged $.50 for. Cheese for my eggs $2.75. What was meant to be breakfast on a budget was $32+ for only 2 people. I recommend Pocahontas. But i will just stick to cold water. I really didn't understand the charge for that hot water. Gave me an entire new perspective on dining out.

I heard someone raving about this place so I decided to try it and go early to avoid the lines that they mentioned. I got there about 7.30 am and it was already packed. I was seated at a table with someone else... very awkward as I would rather have just waited longer for an individual table. I got cherry pancakes which came in a huge stack - way bigger than any one person needs or could eat. They were average, just regular pancakes with pie filling. The service was alright, friendly but too busy to give individual attention. I would go back to try it once more. By the time I left the line was already very long.

We have eaten here several times and I think the quality of the food was better in the past. I would have given them another star but our waitress had to be reminded of our requests several times. She also shook her head when my husband told her they could have done better with his bacon since he received crumbled pieces. But, she brought him more and she didn’t realize we saw her actions. The potatoes are bland and they need to cook them different. But the waffles, French toast, ham, turkey sausage, and cheesy eggs were tasty.

We waited 30 mins but we’ll worth the wait. Our waiter was very quick, pancakes were yummy. We were in and out in 30 mins and were not rushed whatsoever. Blueberry pancakes was a large order so if ordering for a teenager/ child keep in mind could easily be shared. Definitely give it two thumbs up.

Breakfast was delicious and prices were reasonable. Banana topped pancakes and cheese omelet were both very tasty. Coffee as outstanding. But what made this breakfast was our server, Ashley. She was attentive, regulary checking on us, topping off my coffee, and anticipating our every need (e.g. an extra plate to share food) before we had time to ask.) The restaurant is a throwback to where you want to go for a traditional tasty breakfast with very reasonable pricing and with outstanding service that always make the meal experience and taste just that much better.

Disappointed that our hotel wasn’t offering any breakfast options, we wandered down a few blocks to find this gem.
I was hesitant at first, with 3 kids in tow, one of which is only 8 months... waiting 30 mins on the corner in the heat wasn’t ideal. The kids whined and complained bitterly but EVERYONE was glad we stuck it out!
The menu is HUGE. Normally, I’d say this means one of us will not like our food. However, we were all very pleased w our selections!
I had the Belgian waffle. Might be the fact I’ve been low carb dieting for months, but this tasted like heaven personified.
The service was pleasant and efficient. My coffee cup was seldom empty.
The seating was actually extremely comfortable, which seems like an odd thing to mention, unless you have to hold an infant for 2 hrs straight! Lol
I highly recommend checking this place out, especially with delivery via Grubhub and Uber eats is available! Certainly delicious, definitely well priced!

We stopped in to eat but decided to order take out based on the wait time for a table. It was a Sunday - and weekend mornings are the busiest.
The greeting at the front desk was wonderful, ordering food easy and the wait time about 20 minutes (not bad for a restaurant on a Sunday morning).
We loved our food and will definitely return.

On a cool Saturday morning we stopped here after we had checked out of the resort. Parking is free if you eat here. I chose their Monty cristo on the special menu. It was all the meat and cheese I expected but, on French toast instead of deep fried, with a boat load of scalloped potatoes. Too much to eat. My wife had a 3 egg omelette that she could not eat either. Great service and fast delivery after the order. I would go back when in the area. Maybe pancakes next time.

Misleading prices on the menu!! Deceptive Owner!!
I normally don't post any reviews, but after having breakfast this morning, I had no choice but to write one. If I could give it zero stars, I would, because my wife and I were so upset how we were treated by the owner and his wife up front!! We ordered our breakfast, mine was for $11 and my wife ordering her meal that showed $13 on the menu.
Once we got the check, it showed my breakfast was now $13.20 and my wife's jumped to $16.55. When I asked the waitress, she responded that the menu prices are incorrect and they are waiting for new menus to reflect the new pricing!! Unacceptable answer!!
So I go to the front to pay the bill and the lady answered, how was your meal? I told her about the change in pricing, she immediately got defensive and said the "prices have changed and on the back of the menu it clearly states, prices subject to change without notice"!!
My wife & I understand that prices have gone up due to COVID and all the issues that it has brought to the restaurant industry, we are not disputing that. It is the deceptive and misleading way they approached the matter especially when she called the owner or possibly it could have been her husband.
He immediately started talking down to us with a loud voice on how everything has gone up and he also referenced the menu again to point out the same thing the lady said about prices subject to change!! He was rude and made a spectacle of us in front of everyone thinking we were at fault and how dare us question his pricing!!
Again, I don't write reviews, but it wasn't about the extra few dollars we spent there, it was the way the matter was handled!!
They deserve this bad review and would recommend avoiding this place because of deceptive practices, you just don't show a menu with the wrong pricing, period!!
Thanks for listening

Went there this morning at 7:20 on July 6th with my wife (an Interracial family) and was told there was a 3-5 minute wait for a party of 2. My wife asked about the empty seats inside because they had just opened at 7am and they said we reserve those for larger parties. While we were standing there trying to process this rule, while a party of three came inside and was seated at the same very table that we asked about. We stepped outside for a few minutes patiently waiting and then watched another party of three get seated again. We went back in and another family of two came in and we immediately told that family that there was a longer wait for a family of two yet the other waitress went to seat them at a table of people that was for a larger party. The family spoke up and said that we should take the table and we told them no and for them to have a nice breakfast. At this point the other server said for us to go to the back and wait there.
We then asked for a to go order because on their website they do dine in and takeout yet we was told that they don't do to go orders. At that point we decided to leave and I called to ask for a manager and the girl that answered the phone was trying to defend the reason I wanted to talk to the manager. I told her that I felt like I was being discriminated against and I want to speak to a manager and I have yet to hear back from the manager. The one thing I noticed is that none of the other families seated before us were an interracial couple.

For simplicity sake, we did a Door Dash order here. Being that it was all to-go, I'm not at all going to say anything negative about "eye appeal", especially after seeing some of the amazing photos from other reviewers. For our family, we ordered two omelets, one just cheese and the other lobster. With each omelet, we got a very large portion of potatoes as well as two pancakes. We also got a breakfast sandwich with was quite large and also came with a helping of potatoes. I was nervous after placing the order about whether we were going to get silverware, ketchup, and syrup but all of that was packaged. They do very well with a Door Dash order. The food was all quite delicious and all the portions were very big. This is definitely a breakfast place worth checking out whether in person or if you just want to be lazy in your hotel room!
