We stopped in on a slow night and worried about lackluster service. Our server was attentive, our food was very good, and the atmosphere is entertaining.

Being new to town we've been exploring the pub scene in virginia beach. They have a large beer selection, and when my choice wasn't available the waitress brought 2 samples of similar style to try.. food came out hot, and pretty much as expected for a burger and fish and chip meals. Fries were a bit soggy however from sitting... More

Thanks so much for the visit and welcome to VB! We appreciate your feedback and we'll try putting the fries not totally under the fish and chips to avoid getting soggy! Hope to see you again soon! More

My sister in law and I often drive from Richmond to Virginia Beach during the winter for a change of scenery and to visit our favorite restaurants. We saw a write up about Abbey Road in a book in our hotel and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. It was a cozy little spot with good... More

This was very close to the hotel we stayed at and the food wasn't too bad. I had the hamburger and nachos. The burger was a preformed frozen burger, or so it seemed, and the nachos were just ok. The place had a lot of Beatles memorabilia on the walls. It looked as if some of the framed records had... More

The best part of this dining experience was its proximity to the motels and boardwalk. Decor was all Beatles stuff. You guessed it: background music was all Beatles as well.! Food was good. Service was excellent. Try the sweet potato fries - yummy.

Not a bad little place. Service was good as were our meals. Excellent selection of beers and a decent bar. Live music. Price was fair as well. Not going to blow your mind or make your trip extra special, but a cool little restaurant to kick back at, with good food, and interesting Beatles memorabilia.

Our fish and oysters arrived cold and filled with grease, seemed to be cooked in old oil. Food did not seem fresh. Staff kept forgetting items, even after we ask twice. Will never go back.

My wife & I asked desk clerk if she could recommend a nearby restaurant and she suggested Abbey Road. Abbey has a huge selection of beer on tap & an American style restaurant. Chicken dishes, steaks, hamburgers etc. Restaurant was crowded even in December off season which tells me its popular with locals which I consider a sign of a... More

A big disappointment when the bill came. Almost all the food was cold and I ordered a rum coke tall but with only one shot and the labeled it a tall for and extra 50 cent for coke. Never here of that since Aida refills were free. This place is not recommend

Description
It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play..." and it was almost thirty four years ago today when the bands began to play, right here at Abbey Road. Owner Bill Dillon has been bringing the best in great food and live entertainment to the residents and visitors of Tidewater since 1982. Our fresh seafood, beef, and pasta dishes are summed up by The Virginian Pilot's reviews: "Abbey Road Leads Diners to a Satisfying Evening (1983)" and "Abbey Road is a great pub in the midst of a tourist location. For locals it is well worth the trip any time of the year (2008)." Hampton Road's Port Folio Magazine says: "Abbey Road is the Best Acoustic Venue in Tidewater, offering the best and the most variety..." After three years in the food service industry Bill decided in the fall of 1982 to open his own restaurant in the resort area of Virginia Beach. Heavily influenced by the Beatles when growing up, thanks to his two older sisters who listened to their records all the time, he decided to name it 'Abbey Road' after the last album the Beatles recorded (although 'Let It Be' was the last released) before they split up in 1970 (thanks, Yoko). Many national, regional, and local musicians have performed at Abbey Road since 1982, including: Richie Havens - the man who opened Woodstock, Ronee Blakely - toured with Bob Dylan, Livingston Taylor - James' brother, The Ventures -theme from Hawaii Five-O, Rick Roberts of Firefall, - wrote & sang many of their #1 hits, Robert Hunter of The Grateful Dead, Robbin Thompson & The Robbin Thompson Band, Gove Scrivener, Lewis McGehee - toured with Bruce Hornsby, Lisa Noel, Mike Proffit & The Mike Proffitt Band, David Petretto, Keller Williams, Suzy & The Naturals, Catapult, T.K. Llegs, Acoustic Ceiling, Chuck 'Coyote' Larson & Robbie House & Norman Harrell of Snuff, and many, many more...
