Enjoying a lunch with visiting friends, we all decided on the $14.00 lunch entre special. Everyone selected a different choice, and everyone was a WOW meal. Fish of the day was a very delicate flounder fillet in a choice of presentation. The crab cake was...sweet and firm and the butterfly shrimp perfectly fried. We started with a warm crab dip that was distinctively different. If I were a local, I would be here often trying all the offerings.More

We did the AM fishing trip with Dockside. It was a great time despite not too many fish biting. We went to serval locations. Deckhands were very helpful and knowledgeable. We had lunch at Dockside restaurant afterwards. Food is decent location is great. We will...be back in the future!More

Have visited often. It always seems expensive unless we dine early before 5:30 and order their early bird special. Today we arrived in time. For safety we eat outside on a picnic style table. There is little shade. Our latest visit was very hot even...though it was a relatively mild day. Loved the view except the boats with political flags dominating the attention. Boats of all sizes came slowly by some with loud music but most was scenic views of Lynnhaven bay. Service was fine. Presentation of food was good. I ordered flounder, the fish of the day. My wife ordered salmon. The salmon was tasty. The side dish was cole slaw. I liked it but it was light on sauce. The flounder was bland. The French fries, also a side I found greasy but my wife did not. Why the relatively high rating? The open air view was relatively safe and largely beautiful. I had the choice and chose safety over comfort. The price was good. The portion was modest. The salmon was tasty. The mood was festive. Next time I will go with shaded, safe and closest to the water.More

Fishing Charter I booked a fishing charter on The Bay Princess via the web site. It was so easy to check in and board the boat. The mate was exceptional, and the captain has us on fish all afternoon going exactly where the fish were!! And...leaving an area of tide issue. I caught 15-20 fish and sometimes two at a time. They were helpful to take fish off the hook!! and having a towel ready to purchase for $1. I was very very happy with my charter. The boat was clean and well maintained. Definitely will bring my kids back to this boat for fishing!!More

I will give Dockside full credit as running their business as close to normal with phase 2 restrictions. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean as always. Emily was my server and she did a good job. Instead of my usual seafood order...I tried the Roast Beef sandwich which was ok but not as good as the seafood dinners. I look forward to returning.More

This place is advertised as a seafood restaurant and fine wine place, But in reality it’s a pit stop. It’s a really dirty place with dirty plastic dinnerware and dirty utensils. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The outdoor view from the dockside patio is the best part. Food was just okay, everything we tried was super non special. Wouldn’t come back, but it was okay. We ordered the: clam chowder, oysters Rockefeller, crab cake, Mediterranean salad, crab dip, oysters on the...half shell & a gin mule. Every dish was a “meh”, there’s nothing wrong with it, just nothing great about it either.More

Here on the last day of phase 1 lock down we visited Dockside outside on the deck since we are not allowed to eat inside . We missed the enclosed air conditioning but enjoyed our time outside as it has been several weeks since we...could patronize our favorite restaurant. That being said, the meals were just as good as ever. I enjoyed the “catch of the day special” and chose Black Sea bass. Excellent. The soft shell crabs were very good and were almost Jimmy sized. The stuffed shrimp meal was delicious. Kara was our server and she did a great job as always. We look forward to returning when this nonsensical covid lockdown is history so we can sit inside .More

I would call to see hours of operation for the holidays. I do know they have great flounder, but not too sure about sea bass or rock fish. I think their menu is seasonal. Hope this helps.
