We visited Tautogs at the recommendation of our hotel. My husband and I shared the flatbread shrimp, the she crab soup and the blackened tuna. All wonderful. A Great Zin accompanied our meal. The restaurant is quaint, but we felt the tables were too close. We were lucky to be seated next to a friendly couple and we enjoyed our... More

We were referred here by a local. What a disappointment. Nice looking restaurant though, beach cottage look, that's about all we liked. I ordered the crab cakes, with new potatoes. My crab cakes were burnt on top, and the potatoes were very greasy and way to much spice. I should have sent the meal back, but I didn't. Shame on... More

This restaurant is usually very busy during tourist season and also weekends not during tourist season. The atmosphere is a mix of locals and tourists which make it a little more lively than other traditional restaurants. The menu is extensive with an emphasis on seafood. I especially like the crab cakes, fresh tuna and flounder. While I don't think the... More

We have dinner at this pretty restaurant. We ate a good portion of pasta and the typical cake lobster. Everything was great include the friendly service.

I really liked this place. The restaurant is in an old house and porch seating is available. I found it to be very charming, but casual. Service was very good and we could walk there from the beach. The serve mostly seafood. We ordered the steamed shrimp, stuffed flounder and blackened tuna. Everything was very good. My flounder was a... More

Restaurant is an old unique house with big porch for outside dining which is nice. Free parking in back but a small/tight parking lot. Would recommend for the "beach dining" atmosphere and mostly seafood menu, but the food was decent but not super great in that I mean have your expectations set for a casual atmosphere and maybe B (not... So I'm sure for anyone who loves seafood this place is a dream! I was with a group and everyone seemed super happy with the meals they got. I ordered the crab cakes and they were delicious!! I also started with a cessation salad that was very good as well. We ordered wings and spinach dip as an appetizer. The... More

The food was very good but the wait for a table was long and once we ordered it took a very long time to get our food. Worth the wait however.

Very helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. Excellent food served in a very timely manner. We all had seafood. It was fresh, perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. The restaurant is in an old house so it may be challenging to see at night - until you see that it is all lit up.

This restaurant is in a quaint beach cottage. It is usually busy and expect a wait. We have been here a few times while visiting Virginia Beach... never disappointed. The service is friendly and attentive. On our last visit I enjoyed scallops in Puff Pastry. Delicious! My husband enjoyed his Tuna done medium rare. My only suggestion to anyone ordering... More
