Lunch on Chocolate Cake Day

Saw a post on Facebook about today being Chocolate Cake Day, so wife and I went down to tackle one of their large pastrami sandwiches. We decided to split it and still had to take meat out of the middle to get it in my mouth. They are very friendly and splitting a meal is fine with them. A lot... read more

The place is always busy and there is always a wait. That's because the sandwiches are HUGE and the food is always good. This time I had the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad is awesome. I shared lunch with a friend because who in the world can eat one of their sandwiches??? Not me. Good as always.

We have dined in at Route 58 Delicatessen many times in the past and always leave feeling it was great, not to mention the more than great Reuben sandwiches. Last night I picked up their open-faced Reuben to carry out - again excellent. I feel compelled to write this review due to the outstanding service and warm welcome I felt... More

My mom absolutely loves this place. It reminds her of home when she stayed in Jersey and would go to coopers and a few other spots that had no sit down area. yet this place does a little tight when it's packed seeing as it's small and the waiters and waitresses are hit and miss with customer service. As any... More

Route 58 Deli is a NY/ NJ Deli lovers dream. The deli meats are moth watering tender. The rye bread is baked fresh daily. The portions are absolutely huge! Love the Russian dressing and the Cole slaw on the sandwiches. Plan to take home half your meal. This is a popular restaurant so plan to wait a little bit for... More

The atmosphere is that of a cozy NJ deli and the food is on par with any Times Square deli, offering some of the most delicious and fresh meats and sandwiches. This is a place I take my NY friends to impress them and my family when they visit. The Chicken liver is heaven. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful,... More

I've lived in the area over 20 years and this is by far the best place to get an authentic New York deli sandwich and desert. The portions are huge so get a half order or your taking three more meals home. Worth the money.

The Route 58 Deli is one of the few places that hasn't been taken over by Boar's Head meats. The pastrami and corned beef are brisket cuts, not round, steamed and with some fat. The menu is diverse, at least for the carnivore and the servings huge. They have added smaller sandwiches. Sides are good. Bring a cooler to take... More

I've visited here several times and it has always been absolutely delicious! The first time, I made the mistake of not taking the server's recommendation to share a sandwich... good news was that I had lunch for the next day also! The Ruben is to die for and don't even think of getting a side item (which of course I... More

If you are a first time visitor to 58 Deli don't be scared away by their prices thinking "I'm not going to pay that much for a sandwich". Just wait until you get one and you will agree it's definitely worth it! We love to take friends who have never been and watch their reaction when served. All of the... More
