The owner of the Route 58 is a New Yorker and this restaurant reflects that background. The walls are covered with pictures of people similar to the famous New York delis and the quality of the pastrami and corned beef is superior. We ate at the restaurant twice within a week. The first visit we ordered the one pound corned... More

This is the closest thing to food at Carnegie Deli in New York. Breakfast and lunch items are huge. You can not eat it all. The food is delicious. Feels like a NY Deli.

Came in for dinner and was pleased to find an old fashioned deli like NYC or Toronto. The food is up there with the best of the best. Delicious. Fries and gravy to die for. Take out a mortgage before you come because they are very proud on the prices!

After eating here you realize why the average waist size of Americans is 38. The sandwiches are 1-2 pounds. Why? What's the purpose? I shared a Super Reuben, $18.99, which you had to eat with a knife and fork. The sandwich was tasty, although I would have enjoyed it more if able to pick it up and take a bite,... More

Had an unexpected work lunch with a large party here. Restaurant was accommodating with their party room in the back and got every detail correct for a part of 15. Impressed! Portions are large, food is fresh. Restaurant was packed. Large selection of giant desserts. Smell inside the restaurant is great. Tucked away in a strip small near Va Beach... More

Visited twice in the last month - both times food was great. Corned Beef and Pastrami were tender and tasty. Sandwiches are huge but you can order a "half pound" version which is smaller but still a really big sandwich. Service was good - it does get busy at lunch. Seems like a popular spot with the locals,

I want to give it 5, I really do, and the food is great, the Pastrami melts in your mouth. But the smallest sandwich is HUGE. Again, I'm a good eater, but we stopped on way to airport, and though I will be back, that was a lot of food for a preflight meal. Take someone with you who likes... More

I stumbled on a Groupon for this restaurant while visiting Virginia Beach. I visited on a Saturday evening around 5:30 pm. I was seated immediately. This location does great business. Wait staff is friendly and offered samples if the Pastrami and Corned Beef before ordering. I had the 58 Pastrami Burger and a slice of Carnegie Deli Carrot Cake for... More

Having visited good New York style deli's in New York City as well as Miami Beach and other haunts where good delicatessens are often found, I can honestly say that the food here is good but tends to be pricey for the area. Pretty much everything is a la carte and therefore when you order a sandwich and you want... More

Average food, average service, ridiculously expensive. Nothing special here. 2 average sandwiches, macaroni salad, soda and dessert, $71. Absurd! Will never go back. Jersey Mikes has better sandwiches. Embarrassed to say I spent that kind of money on this below average food. Husband ordered a small sandwich, charged for a large. 2 pieces of cake, $22. Ridiculous.
