Lunch with Frederick Military Academy classmate alums. Great food and conversation. When paying the bill, my very attentive wait person misplaced my credit card. They were extremely apologetic and did not charge for the meals. I reported the credit card lost immediately. The next day I received a call from the restaurant letting me know that the card was found... More

My wife and I recently ate at the Route 58 Deli because we heard they had good corned beef. They have excellent corn beef. We both ordered the Rueben and it was so big, we could only eat half and had to take the other half home for the next night. The sandwich was served of Jewish rye with the... More

Route 58 Deli has the menu of a true New York style deli, but is located in an unassuming shopping center on Route 58. The open-faced reuben was one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten and it's so big I couldn't even finish half of it. The atmosphere is a little loud and chaotic, but I think that's what... More

I couldn't believe this place! Had a magnificent egg cream and this unbelievable knish that looked like a volcano! I had four meals from it. Then I found dessert - 7-layer cake! The cake portion huge, at least for four people. This restaurant rates a 5 star from me.

I can't believe I've lived in Virginia Beach for 10 years and have never visited this utterly charming diner. I say "diner" and not "deli" because it's much like a vintage NY diner/deli combo. I'm not into deli food; maybe that's why I never thought to visit. Nevertheless, hubby suggested we give it a try. Wish I'd known about this... More

The place was very busy on Saturday at 7:15 when we walked in , but we got the last available table. Our servers, Kempy and Riley, were great. They pointed out the Rudy Reuben to my husband. It was ENORMOUS. He ate half and the leftover half still weighed in at just under a pound. Not to be outdone, I... More

This is now a go to spot whenever we come to VA beach. It is an amazing deli with great NY/NJ deli favorites, like knishes, huge deli sandwiches, and disco fries (a NJ delicacy). Save room for cheesecake and rugula, both are amazing. The slices of cheesecake are huge; three people could easily share one.

This place is awesome! Huge portions and all of the meats are made fresh there and are amazing!!Probably my favorite place to eat in the area. Definitely don't miss the cheesecake for dessert. If you're full, get it to go!!

With 1 pound of meat on your sandwich, it is guaranteed that you will not leave hungry! This place is amazing. The atmosphere is great and the service is excellent. It is on the pricey side, but I doubt you will be able to finish. We brought half of my husband sandwich home. I opted for a small Matzo Ball... More

I love Route 58 Deli! Like they say, "if you finish it all, we did something wrong!" Get the BLT but be prepared to dislocate your jaw to bite into it. Be sure to use the special sauce for your fries.
