Took a drive as we are big fans of lobster rolls. They were great and the shrimp basket was wonderful too.

Easier then driving or flying to Maine! Well executed lobster rolls and other Maine yummies. Family enjoyed it, even though there was no place to really sit and eat, more of a carry out place right now with COVID-19. Would come back!

You just can not beat the freshness and quality of the lobster rolls. They also have really great fish and chips.

Ordered a" lobster" roll today and what I got was a roll filled with leg meat from lobster bodies, Jonah crab meat ( with the shells) and a few pieces of knuckle meat that tasted not only like frozen lobster meat but frozen lobster meat...mixed with Jonah crab meat and whipped with some type of mayo/ awful sauce. The only bite of Maine was the name of the establishment. Now I know that the this place has advertised Jonah crab/ lobster roll combo but that is not what I ordered or paid for , big disappointment especially if you know what a lobster roll is suppose to taste like !!More

I had been hearing about A Bite of Maine for quite some time so finally decided to drive out of my way to try it. I ordered the seafood roll, lobster roll and haddock bites since they were the specials that weekend. All were fresh...and delicious, however, I was surprised by the small size of the seafood roll and the lobster roll. To me, the haddock bites were the best part of the meal, but sadly the fries served with them were barely lukewarm. The wait was quite a bit longer than quoted when I placed my phone order from the parking lot. The service team did seem to be efficient.More

One of those times when you have a craving for something. On that day, it was for a lobster roll. OMG! A little pricey, but that's a common thing for lobster rolls. We also got a shrimp roll, which was equally yummy.

They are not shy on the amount of lobster. I've eaten here many times as after church with the family. Whole belly fried clams and lobster roll are my go too! The process is very reasonable for the amount of seafood and we know seafood...can get pricey! So good! Love it here and always recommend to visitors. XoxoxMore

The food this place is so good is actually worth the detour as this is not really in Virginia Beach or anywhere close to the waterfront but on a shopping plaza in Lynnhaven. To give you an idea, a few weeks back we went and...they were serving walk up to go and people waiting outside tells you something. chowder is out of this world As is the lobster bisque.More

Virginia's COVID rules at the moment are causing challenges, no doubt. But my first experience at Bite of Maine was not a good one due to service, but more than that, due to lack of respect of the customer. When I arrived before 11am and...stood in line, in the hot sun (not much provision for shade) I was told, "We have no fish until 11:30am" so I ordered there, and came back 30+ minutes later per the cashier's instruction. The cashier took my phone number and said she would also call me (she never did). I was mostly ignored, but finally got someone's attention and they said, "your order will be out right away," For the next 10+ minutes fish orders were coming to the door and names called out, but not mine. Then I inquired and the employee said it would be out in 1.5 minutes. After 10 more minutes I asked another employee and he said they lost my ticket and kind of apologized. After another 7 minutes, I asked and he went back inside, without responding. Meanwhile, another person with my name was called (it had fish), but not my order. He was sure of that. After several more minutes it came, no apology or explanation.... just would you like to leave a tip? There is a difference between an honest screw-up and lying (more than one time). So how was the food? I got the rather expensive Fisherman's Platter. It came with a load of soggy french fries- they were not crisp and not very tasty. There was a very small serving of scallops and shrimp plus two haddock- both medium large size. The haddock was very tasty. But the food was not worth $31- especially since the fries were not good and composed 50%+ of the order weight. The scallops and shrimp portions were tiny. Probably will not return to a place that seems to systematically disrespect its customers. It's not worth waiting 50+ minutes, and standing in the hot sun.More

Not the same I have been a customer of A Bite of Maine since they only had a food truck in the parking lot of where they are now, so I am very disappointed in having to post this review. I went to pick up...today, and the line took an hour to be able to order. I had tried ordering by phone, but one line had a full voicemail box, and the other line was continuously busy. So I am actually happy that they are busy in light of the current situation of take away only. I do not know if this was a normal Sunday or because it was Mother’s Day, but it was the longest line I’ve ever seen there, but I’ve gone earlier on Friday or Saturday since the virus has changed them to takeout only. I ordered the fried belly clams which I have not had in a year, and they definitely were not the same as they were in the past. The color was completely different and they were more breading than clam. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were now buying frozen fried clams because they did not seem to me that they were made on the premises. Additionally, the lobster roll tasted different than ones I got a couple weeks ago. They had announced that they were going to run out of lobster rolls as I was about 6 people from ordering, and I was happy that I got in under the wire, that is until I got home. I will not be returning at least until things hopefully settle back to normal.More
