My family and I visited relatives in Williamsburg, and we ate at Two Drummers Smokehouse twice in four days, it was that good! My favorite was the fried green tomato...although the tomato ranch dressing was delicious on it, I couldn't help but spread it with...their spicy pimento cheese, and it was fabulous! I had it again the 2nd time! My son said that the burnt ends/beef tips were his favorite protein, but he also loved the sausage (and he kept trying to get my fried green tomatoes!) My husband liked the beef tips, too, but he really enjoyed the ribs (so did I!) My daughter loved the shrimp tacos, and my son-in-law wolfed down his cuban sandwich. He and I also had the delicious white chicken chili, and the chicken wings were a very succulent appetizer, as well. My cousin let me try his tuna bites and sweet potato fries, and they were great, too. Our servers were all very efficient and friendly, but Carrie and Joy were our favorites. The Smith Wade Band was playing on our first visit, and they were fun and very talented! Highly recommend!!More

We have eaten at almost all of the BBQ joints in the Williamsburg area on our frequent visits. We’d heard good things about Two Drummers and decoded to give it a try. We placed a carry out order over the phone; it would be nice...if they had an online ordering option. I got the blackened tuna bites to add to a salad I already had. My husband got the Senior Corp platter with pork ribs, brisket and sausage. The tuna was delicious, though a tad dry. My husband raved about the sausage, and he also liked the brisket and ribs. We’ll definitely order from here again.More

By now, it should be no surprise that my husband and I still get strange looks and even 'no attention' when we go to restaurants and other establishments in southern states. Having said that, it surprised me, the service treatment we received from the waitress,...here. So my husband and I went to 2 Drummers for lunch after buying beautiful produce at KelRae Farms right down the street. I thought it was a regular diner/restaurant. Turns out it's a smokehouse; which means this vegetarian is eating salad. We ordered drinks and pecan pie. The pie was good, our drinks didn't come until after we finished our pie. My husband had a burger with shredded turkey on top, a side of coleslaw and hush puppies. He said the burger was tasty. I ordered the only "vegan friendly" Portabello sandwich with some kind of slaw and tomato (I can appreciate the them even having an option other than salad). I paid $1 upcharge for a side of Mac and cheese asked our waitress for mayo for the sandwich. I ate the store bought, frozen Mac and cheese, which was decent. The leftover cheese sauce I put in the sandwich because the mayo still hadn't come. I took one bite and spit it into my napkin. It was just gross. There was a young waitress who was taking care of 2 other tables. They came after us, ate, got refills on beer, boxes and out the door. Our waitress never checked on us for refills nor bring the mayo. When she finally emerged, she went to another table and apologized for not checking in on them. When she came to our table, she never apologized for her absence, she didn't acknowledge the lack of mayo which she should have remembered once she looked at my plate and saw a full uneaten sandwich. She didn't ask if I needed a box, if I didn't like it, if I wanted something else. She asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks or the check. I asked for a box and check. She brought the check and box once she was picking up our credit card. The only time she made eye contact with me was when I asked her if the Mac and cheese had meat or lard (here in Virginia, more than you think is made with lard). . The floors and seating were dirty. Someone did sweep while we were there, we cleaned off our own seats. There were bare wires hanging out if the ceiling. I assume they're updating their lighting. The booth lighting was neat with real snare drums, but they had real symbols all over the walls - their logo is of Colonial style drummers with snare drums. I don't understand how a modern day symbol/drum set fits the bill. The decor can be overlooked, the treatment of the wait staff cannot. We will not be returning!More

Two Drummers has always been top of the BBQ list for me. I am a local that eats out 2 to 3 times a week. This last visit was by far the worst dining experience that was truly unexpected at Two Drummers. I and my...wife and friend ordered junior combinations of different entries. The brisket was like well done roast beef, a cold roll (no corn bread) and over cooked ribs. I sincerely hope this improves.More

It's been about 5 years since I have been in this area and was fortunate enough to enjoy a dinner at Two Drummers Smokehouse again. As before, the brisket is top notch! I highly recommend the brisket dip sandwich. The service was great, the facility...is in good shape! Absolutely no reason not to stop by and enjoy a meal!More

We stopped in Sat nite on way back from Kings Dominion, and maybe we were just starving but the food was off the charts good. We were 2 drummers rookies..hadn't eaten there before but its a locals kinda place just literally feet of the road....It really is a bar with a smoke house attached. We had drinks under happy hour prices, and while the food took longer than expected (20-30 minutes), when it arrived it was worth it. Son had the fall off the bones ribs with sides...he is semi chef and ranted about the mushrooms and the rib rub, I had the smoke house burger with bbq/slaw on it with sweet tater fries. It was all really tasty, and worth the wait. My son said he could see the side of the restaurant and there alot of to go orders which might have slowed down inside serve, but if you pick your time wisely you wont regret beating your way over.More

I don't know either. I wasn't looking for glutton free, so can't help. Really good fun and food, though.
