We had the pasta special and a salad, and it was very good, and had a clean flavor to it. Not overdone and all the ingredients were simple and very fresh. The service was top shelf, and at the same time low-keyed. People at the other tables were friendly to us, even though we were not locals...that was nice. Interesting... More

The historical restaurant was recommended by realtor, was not the favorite of next door neighbor, if it was upto her, other place that only serves dinner, she wished was open for luncheon, but did say this will be OK and she was right. Scallops and Malceb was good, but soup was terrible so the average or good, was not given... More

Chef/Owner Tom Kee makes Maryland proud and his gourmet menu is incredible. All Breads, Pastas and Desserts are made on site along with other items to help create a top dining experience. The Stir Fry of Fresh Roasted Lobster is topped only by the Pan Seared Sea Scallops. I strongly recommend dining here for Brunch. Lunch or Dinner!

About an hour west of the Washington Beltway is the exit of I-66 for Middleburg and The Plains. Middleburg is very posh but sometimes on a very off-day you can get into a posh pub (or just go down the street to several less-posh locations). At least that was our plan. But we were sort of pressed for time and... More

Well presented dishes using fresh ingredients. Good wine list reasonably priced. Popular with local residents.

We have dined here many times with kids or as a couple with other adults. The entrees are reliably tasty, the atmosphere welcoming and comfortable and the staff helpful. I have never been disappointed with a meal. For us The Rail Stop is the neighborhood place we go to because it's good. Reservations for dinner are a good idea especially... More

"Comfortable" as well as “outstanding” might be the best way to describe The Rail Stop in The Plains! The food is excellent and service is equally outstanding. Best of all it comes together in a small, casual, relaxed atmosphere. The Rail Stop very successfully promotes a neighborly or local feel. In other words, outstanding food and service without the trappings... More

Not many choices around The Plains and the wife and I ate here for lunch today. Small place with about 8-10 tables and a counter with 5-6 stools. Quaint is a good way to describe it. The wife ordered the Roasted Eggplant open faced sandwich. She said it was very good. I ordered the Asian Pork Sandwich with Bok Choy... More

Went for Sunday brunch and made a reservation through Open Table. No need to there were only 3 or 4 tales of people in there at noon. Waitress was friendly but not overly attentive (no refill on water). Food was good -- potatoes really tasty. The bacon was very good too and they make their own sausage (a little too... More

The staff and servers were very warm and welcoming. It was a pretty slow night but they didn't mind us staying late and enjoying some wine. It was a little expensive for the value of the dishes and wine. It was fine but very forgettable, in fact I really can't remember if I had Salmon or beef.
