The North Main Street of Suffolk has been without a restaurant serving fried seafood since Long John Silvers closed up. "Skrimp Shack" is a welcome addition to the area. It is a fast-growing chain of restaurants that started up in Newport News less than 10...years ago. The downtown Suffolk location is their 26th location! They have succeeded because they serve great fish sandwiches. I had a crab and shrimp po'boy; my wife had the shrimp po'boy. We were both really pleased with the freshness of the rolls as well as the ample serving and high quality of the of seafood on the rolls. The shrimp was perfectly done with just a fine dusting of breading. They offered regular and "spicy" sauces on the sandwiches. We got ours on the side. I am glad we did because BOTH of the sauces were too SWEET for our tastes. Next time, I will decline the sauce option. Fortunately, they had a few shakers of Old Bay (style) seafood seasoning and bottles of hot sauce to spice up our sandwiches. I will return, for sure.More
