This restaurant has been here a long time serving up home cooked food which is so good. The atmosphere is good and I have only good things to say about it.

Showed up 15 minutes before closing with a group of 6. They were still happy to see us. It was good home cooked food that came in acceptable portions. I had a glass of house wine that was not only pretty good but was a huge glass. The pie, and there were several that they were out of at that... More

Hoping to enjoy some good, straightforward, hearty southern-style food we followed the guidebooks and stopped for dinner at Mrs. Rowe's Restaurant and Bakery. To our tastes, this establishment rated only average. Yes, it has ham, spoon bread, oysters, and greens, etc but they lack that special touch a southern cook mixes into the food with care and love. The ham... More

Stopped here en route to PA. From NC. Service was slow at midday -after waiting more than thirty minutes, were seated and waited for server. We ordered a cup of soup and pie for him, and a blt sandwich for me - two iced teas - nothing complicated. At least four tables near us order dinner choices and were served... More

After touring the Blue Ridge Parkway for 4 or 5 days, I turned to the Interstate to head back south. When it was time to stop for the evening, I decided to get off the interstate and stay at a nice hotel by a chain restaurant that I enjoy and frequent. This was off Interstate 81 at Staunton, Virginia, on... More

I was heading for a commercial restaurant seen Mrs Rowe and decided to try a local place. So glad I did. Everything was homemade. My eggs were cooked prefect and the home fries different from any other I had before in good way. Homemade bread for toast. Very yummy. The server could have been a little more friendly, but made... Stopped in here for lunch as we were traveling I-81 & had read some good reviews. Once at the restaurant, we were seated immediately at a table in the back room & given menus. Menu was pretty large with a nice selection of home style meals, steak, seafood, chicken, hot & cold sandwiches and salads. They also have daily specials... More

Seven of us stopped here when traveling through on the interstate. The food was good, the prices fair, the atmosphere welcoming, and the staff friendly. What more could you want? Oh, and it wasn't a chain restaurant and the service was quick enough for 7 people. I'd go there again.

A fine stop for a fine meal. Neat menu (we were there for dinner) with daily specials. The servers were all busy off their feet, but never left us feeling neglected. There is a true southern charm here. Our food was very, very good. Portions just perfect so no need for take home. Price was decent and everything about the... More
