This is not a Michelin 3-star restaurant, but what Byers Street Bistro does, it does extremely well. On my last visit, I had a personal size pizza. The crust was not too thick, but bread like and chewy, which is perfect in my book.
The...crème brûlée hit all the right notes. The custard was smooth, velvety and delicately flavored--simply perfect. The fired sugar top was thick enough to be brittle and bring an exciting contrasting texture to the custard. The feel and taste in the mouth was swoon-worthy. I could have eaten three on the spot!More
We went here for a business lunch and had a nice spot to ourselves. We went mid-afternoon on a weekday and it was still busier than I expected it to be. The outside looks very nice as does the inside. It has heavy timber everywhere...which gives it a cool vibe. The hostess was very nice. Our waitress was very good. Very friendly and attentive. The menu was a little smaller than I expected which may be because of Covid (I'm not sure as this was my first time here) but there was still good food to pick from. We shared a few appetizers and everybody's meals looked very good. I got a bacon royale cheeseburger which was very good. The prices are all very reasonable as well.More
Had lunch here while in town. Food was delicious! Really enjoyed the Nashville hot chicken appetizer. Great beer selection too. Staff was very friendly and helpful recommending other places to try while in town.
when every restaurant in town was jammed, they seated us very quickly! There was on street parking right outside of the restaurant.
Everything was excellent (it was especially clean) and the waitress even taught us how to pronounce the name of the town!
A sandwich on a croissant with turkey, crab dip (yes, crab dip), lettuce and tomato was among the best sandwiches I have ever had! Outdoor seating available. Good service. Will return next time we're in Staunton.
Stopped here for lunch while we were staying in the area. Everything looks freshly painted and newly redone. They were working off of a short menu due to Covid, but there was still something for everyone. The staff was super nice and helpful. It seemed...a tad slow given how empty the place was, but again, covid. We ordered the Nashville bites for an appy and they were great! It's basically a deconstructed Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I also had the south western wrap, which was great, although I don't know if it should be called southwestern. Very tasty and well made, but didn't have the typical SW bite to it and missing a few key ingredients I would expect in anything labeled SW. I would 100% order it again though, and my husband was very happy with his meal too. Great place, will definitely visit again if we're in town.More
We had salads with salmon which was fine; however, despite the fact that the place was not at all busy, our service was terrible. After being seated and waiting 10 minutes or more we had to ask twice to get menus and then had to...ask that someone take our order. Later had to seek out someone to get a drink refill. Staff was very inattentive; seemed distracted. I was entertaining a friend from out of town and after recommending the place, I had to apologize.More
