At the table: One vegetarian, one omnivore, two cocktail-lovers, two adorers of pie. Zynodoa made us happy on every point, and staff and casual-elegant ambiance were spot-on. The menu selections posed a nice combination of familiar favorites with interesting spins, so the meal overall felt satisfying but also an exploration of flavors. Zynodoa was a recommendation by the front desk... More

There is not much choice in town as far as fine dining but this is the gold standard here. A clean, open, modern room with a great bar scene and a rotating menu based on local foods and suppliers for those concerned about sourcing; this is the place to eat. There is a tasting menu with optional wine pairings at... More

We stayed a night in Staunton and decided to dine here after all of the great reviews. Our whole experience was outstanding!! It's a small restaurant so make sure you have reservations. The menu changes daily depending on what is fresh and what they can get locally. The cast iron cornbread is to die for!! The tomato salad was very... More

My husband and I were visiting Staunton and stayed at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel which is just around the corner from this restaurant. We arrived after 9:00 on a Wednesday night and the restaurant had a few guests. It was quiet and we received quick, friendly service. I had read that some of the portions were small so we asked... I'm a little bit miffed at how small portions were dished out. I had the tuna appetizer and it was three tiny slices of tuna and half a hand full of vegies. I also had a side of squash and again tiny portions. I have traveled extensivly and eaten better than here with as good or better presention at a... More

Interesting menu and extensive wine list. My meal was excellent-both food and service. We had a leisurely meal (hour and a half) before going to the theater. Reservations are a good idea.

Excellent high end cuisine served in an unpretentious relaxed atmosphere. We had the chefs tasting menu and it was great value for this level of food. And, the service was equal to the food. If you,re lucky you will get our server, Bill. He was truly the most knowledgeable ,friendly, informative server we have ever encountered and really enhanced an already... More

Creative kitchen. Local ingredients. Good wine selection. Enthusiastic server. Lovely decor. Fine pre or post theater dining. We had the cornbread brûlée, root vegetable salad, oyster mushroom pate, fried green tomatoes and cheese plate appetizers and were too full for mains. Next time!

Excellent dinner here last night. We had the scallops and the trout. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the accompaniments were bountiful, thoughtfully chosen and as good as the star of the plate. Service was flawless. Can't wait to return!

The dinner was delicious. We had YUMMY fried Rappahannock oysters that were not drowned in a sauce! The oyster flavor was great and the sauce was a light complement. For an entree we chose the surf and turf option. Nice complements with the side dishes and salads. We admittedly had an 8:30 reservation, but felt rushed at the end, as... More
