Just not enough food. The food is good but...... the $15 chicken salad plus a side of soup $5 wasn't close to being a meal... there just wasn't enough food. I'd rather pay more and get a larger plate of food. Also had to order 2 child meals for my son.

Arrived in town earlier than expected without any plans for dinner. Took Trip Advisor member recommendations for this place. Larger than expected menu selection. Standard American cafe/bar food. The bread basket was tasty. Standard green salad. Nothing special there. Would have been a notch up with homemade croutons instead of from a box. The cedar plank salmon was yummy. Sweet... More

Stopped in here with a friend while in town for a few days. The clocktower has a welcoming atmosphere and a lot of space so you don't feel crowded. The wait staff is very friendly and enthusiastic as well as knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The rolls were very good (we had asian and Rueben) and soup of the... More

Service and food are hit-or-miss. Good for a quick bite if you are in the mood for pub food, or a cocktail.

The food here is really good.....be sure to try the fried green tomatoes! The service is always awesome. On a visit it was explained to us that the restaurant is a cooperative. The employees have a vested interest in the success of the restaurant and this shows in the service. Definitely my favorite downtown restaurant!

Great bar and charming atmosphere ! Just stopped in for a quick bite. And a craft beer from Virginia. Perfect afternoon. French onion soup was good not too salty and the corn crab chowder was delicious. Bartenders were so helpful and let me sample many craft beers before I chose one. Yummy. Great spot in town.

Nice ambiance and happy hour 4-7. They weren't expecting to be so busy the Monday after Christmas, also short staffed. Computers went down for a while. But those working were hustling and we eventually got our meal. My husband and I both enjoyed our selections! The restaurant was on a quaint street that had many neat little shops and antiques.... Great experience at this downtown Staunton restaurant on Friday night November 18th. Food and service exceptional. Lots of locals, and very welcoming to us as visitors from South Carolina. Great beer/wine selection. Cedar plank salmon EXCELLENT. Also we were able to utilize UBER for transportation (so that I could enjoy one more Devil's Backbone draft). Thanks for a great evening... The Clocktower is in the lovely downtown historic district, so it's handy for lunch while shopping at the many cute and quirky locally owned shops. The wide-ranging menu goes from light bites to beefy burgers. Two things I really appreciated were the appetizer sampler, which allows you to try small portions of three starters; and the 1/2 portion of pasta,... More
