We love to sit at the bar/counter and watch the sushi being made! When someone told me there was good sushi in Ruckersville - I did not believe them but went to check it out and we are now regulars! Fast service, attention to detail...and fresh product! We love this place!More
My husband picked up take out tonight from Kyoto. First time there.. steak and shrimp meal was so sweet I couldn’t eat it... lots of sweet teriyaki sauce? It came with soup, which was so full of pepper I couldn’t eat that either.. the yummy...sauce was like having a sweet salad dressing ..French? Total strike out. For two of these meals we paid $38.00More
This is not authentic Japanese, but cheap. The food was served quickly. They had 'white tuna', so be cautious. No ill effects.
This place is AWESOME! I was SO excited when this place opened, as sushi is one of my favorite things in life. Lol. I usually pick up sushi to go, but have dined in the little cute restaurant before as well. The service is great...and the sushi is the best in town! I love this place!!! :)More
It is located in a small shopping mall... Service was friendly and fast. We ate at the sushi bar and everything was good and fresh. The best I have ever had, No... but I would stop in again for dinner anytime..
Fresh, Quick and tasty. Reasonably priced. In a small shopping center right off route 29 south. Very convenient.
The menu provides ample options and the food we ordered was delicious. Our families tastes are varied and we sampled a broad variety of menu options. Everything ordered tasted delicious and was spot on.
So I will start by saying Iam such a sushi snob. I visited for lunch today with low expectations, but was actually surprised. It's not amazing like "Now and Zen" sushi restaurant, but in all fairness if your looking for a local sushi lunch/dinner I...would recommend this place. The sushi was cut thinner than I prefer but had a fresh taste. Spicy mayo was used as a garnish on most rolls, so make sure to ask for it on the side if it is not something you want to taste on everything. We ordered soup and green tea as well, both were very good. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating and made our visit very comfortable.More
Thought I'd give the place a try. To be fair, the Grand Opening sign could have been up for months or days. Who knows. Small storefront. Maybe 15 tables. The place was busy and the staff was overworked. Only two people. So orders were taking...a long time. I went with a sushi combo. Game with a salad and miso soup. Both were very fresh. Soup was really good. Lately I've been craving miso soup. The sushi was fine. Not bad, no off taste. The maki rolls were small but good. I ordered a Royal Roll. It was good as well but the avocado was rock hard. I removed it from each piece. The service was slow but pleasant. Overall I though very affordable. Again, anytime I'm ranking a place a 3, I'll try to return after a while to give a fair review. Once experience shouldn't be the only qualifier. They have a wide selection of cooked meals that most folks were ordering. I didn' ttry any of those, perhaps next time.More
The location in a strip mall dominated by Food Lion in Ruckersville did not lead me to expect much but I was pleasantly surprised to see a small, scrupulously clean and pleasant sit down restaurant with a sushi bar setup. The hostess was very friendly...and pleasant. I came at 8:00 pm and at that point other customers coming and going were also ordering takeout. I settled at the bar where I chatted and had an excellent cup of tea while my order was prepared. Two entrees each came with a meat on vegetables, a side of basic fried rice and a side of soup. The price on each of these was under $10.00. I ordered teriyaki chicken and hibachi shrimp. Each meal came portioned in a sealed container with a separate container of soup that looked to be about 8 ounces or so of broth based soup, one clear, one miso. I was happy that nothing was particularly greasy or oily. Seasoning was mild and the flavors of the meat and vegetables were flavorful and the texture of the vegetables was still crisp enough to be certain this food had not been sitting about but seemed freshly cut and cooked. I had a chance to watch the sushi chef at work for a bit and a chance to sit where the clean preparation was observed. I will happily be back with a sushi-loving daughter soon.More
