I liked the old spot on Orange for character but this is a step up and food hasn't changed. I'm not a ckn n waffles expert but I've had my share and this place is legit.

Nice restaurant located in the heart of Roanoke shopping district. Chicken and waffles were good and many other options on the menu. Great for families.

I enjoyed the chicken and waffles and coffee. The mimosa wasn't the best, orange juice was bitter and sparkling wine was too cheap. My boyfriend got pork and eggs and was happy. The fired apples were good but were from a can, so if you don't like that, don't get them.

One of the best chicken and waffle places I have ever been too. Staff was friendly, but the food was excellent. Highly recommended!!

During a recent business trip to Roanoke a coworker and I dropped into the restaurants new location in the downtown district for lunch as they came recommended by locals; however, we should have known by the fact we were the only customers in the place and the employees were no where to be found for a solid five minutes, that... I eat at Thelma's 5-6 times a year, and we LOVE the atmosphere, the service and the food here.. I NEVER need a menu, as I ONLY get the chicken and waffles for breakfast. What is the BEST part, is hearing the southern gospel music, and the kitchen staff singing with it from the kitchen - awesome..

The service was slow and we were there early for lunch. Only one other small party there as well. Took 40 minutes to get our food. I'm on a 1 hour lunch break. The waffle was great, potatoes were great but the chicken tenders were tiny and over cooked. Not sure what has changed but I'm really disappointed in the... More

Loved the chicken and waffles. It is no wonder it is still thriving. The service was a bit slow but the food made up for it. Dessert menu was very limited, but overall a good place to eat.

Is Fried Chicken and Waffles. It's serious good, down home food. Unfortunately, the front of the house may be dragging down the back of the house.
