May, 2017. Our son graduated from VA Tech. We had a family graduation celebration dinner at Frankie Rowland's. Atmosphere, Service and Food were all upscale and very good. I would go back. Really good steak.

I absolutely love celebrating special occasions here. It's definitely a hit on the purse strings, but I am never disappointed in the food. We made some choices that I didn't care for too much, but that was our issue, not the restaurant. We are a...More

This Is our favorite dining destination in Roanoke. We ate there two nights in a row. We always eat at the bar and the bartenders KNOW how to make a proper straight-up, perfect Manhattan. House made chips and onion dip. Tomahawk ribeye was perfectly prepared....More

Recently had a very good meal here. Décor is your typical "steak-house" (i.e. dim lighting, dark woods, leather, etc.); very good, attentive service and excellent steaks. Only drawbacks are it is rather pricey and the service, while good, is a tad slow. That aside, I'll...More

My fiancé recently took me here for my birthday dinner. The staff were very nice and attentive. We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer. It was wonderful. We both got filets, which were seasoned and cooked wonderfully. We were informed up front that the...More

We visited Roanoke to attend a concert with my son and his wife. We chose Frankie Rowlands despite my concerns about previous reviews. We have dined at other upscale restaurants, (Ruth's Chris; Capital Grill, The Prime Rib) and although the service was excellent, we found...More

I was really looking forward to an outstanding meal at Frankie Rowland's, and for the most part we got it. The service was attentive and quick. The waiter was very knowledgeable. Wine list was long with a good, fairly-priced selection. The issue that caused me...More

Hope this isn't too late! I wouldn't feel comfortable going too casual. A suit isn't necessary by any means, but I agree with business casual. It's a nice dinner out, so it's worth looking and feeling nice when you go... More

Really anything is OK except shorts and flip-flops. Their jeans and a nice shirt will do fine for men. Jeans and a nice top for women is great or address of some kind
