My husband and I ate with you today. I can honestly say I've had better frozen dinners. Both of our meals were overly salted and therefore we couldn't eat much. For a restaurant catering to seniors, this is just ridiculous. High blood pressure in most...seniors and salt is not our friend. Let people salt their own food. We will not be back.More

While traveling through the area, we were in search of a nice local place for lunch & happened upon the Roanoker - great choice! We ordered off the breakfast & lunch menus - omelette & open-faced sandwich - both were great! Server was pleasant &...attentive - also liked the little 'gift shop' as the entrance. Recommended!More

The owner got defensive and nasty when I asked if all the employees have been vaccinated against COVID!!! Was told this is a privacy issue she would rather not answer. Bad attitude about C0VID protection. This being a place where Veterans frequent there are no...Military Discounts. The prices are high for what you get. Tables not disinfected.More

We stop by the Roanoker as a Sunday morning outing (when visiting the ‘rents.). The breakfast is reasonable and always consistently good. Not great, but consistently good with a wide variety of choices. We will continue to partake in the Roanoker on future visits.

We had not visited this well known local restaurant for quite sometime. This was not because our last experience was bad, but is about a 45 minute drive from our home and with Covid and all it just didn't happen. Our server was FANTASTIC, very...attentive and obviously anticipated our every need. The food for the most part was very good. One member of our party was not happy with the steak tips. He said they were overdone and had no flavor. The rest of our group was pleased with their orders. Two of us got the fried flounder with oysters. It was very good but either they should put "three small oysters" on the menu description or just put the flounder and leave the oysters off. I heard the poor lady at a table behind me ask if she could order the flounder and oysters and just leave off the flounder. I had to laugh, was she ever going to be disappointed! My wife ordered the seafood platter and she commented that it was good, small portions but she couldn't remember if it said it included oysters or scallops or both and she couldn't tell which she got or both. I must say that the salads were good sized and very fresh. Over all the price was fair and food mostly good. We all decided that the next time we would order something different.More

We love to try local places when we travel. We had driven by this place on our way out of town on our visit, but they were closed. So, we decided to give them a try on this visit for dinner. It’s an older place,...but clean. The menu has a lot of good choices, my husband got the country ham steak with red eye gravy, my son and I got the cheeseburger with fries. The portions were a decent size and the food was good. Our server took good care of us. My husband liked it so much that we stopped back in on Sunday for lunch on our way out of town.More

We were looking for a lunch spot on our way home from a road trip. Looked on Trip Advisor and found this place. Great choice! It was a bit off our route on I 81 but was worth the extra 10 miles drive. Family atmosphere....Great food and wonderful service. It was obviously a local favorite as everyone seemed to know everyone else. We would definitely returnMore

In town on business and was steered to this restaurant and I was not disappointed. The staff worked hard to ensure I was taken care of and wanted for nothing. The amount of food was almost too much, just almost. Get the biscuits you will...not be disappointed. My omelet was done correctly meaning the inside was hot and everything was melted that should have been. Check out their daily specials.More

What a great meal. I had the chicken livers turnip greens and whipped Potatoes. My friend has the chopped steak whipped potatoes and green beans. The biscuits and yeast rolls were so so good.

Good home cooking like you would experience at a Grandma’s house. We enjoyed a nice dinner with ham, baked chicken, veggies and biscuits and corn bread. Priced fairly and kind service. Overall, comfortable home cooked meal experience.

Stopped COVID-era..so ate outside on a Ben h. The egg/bacon/cheese biscuit was gorgeous. My husband stuck his nose up at first then ate half of it. I would order two if you are hungry—not that big. And the link sausage are lovely. All around a...great stop on our road trip.More

Had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated on a busy Saturday morning but the meal was worth the wait. Great service and great food. We loved the biscuits! We had eggs over medium and the eggs mixed with your choice of meat. We...also sampled pancakes and French toast.More

We visited the Roanoker for breakfast the first time. We had previously had lunch and dinner and always great food and service. I order the sausage canoe and it was the best scrambled eggs I ever had. Moist eggs with ample sausage and real cheddar...cheese. Biscuits very fluffy an thick. I did not think the sausage gravy was the best but I will defiantly return for breakfast and try their other entrees. Our waitress was Shannon and she was very attentive and knowledgeable in what was good to order.More

They do have a "party room" space -- I would call and check. Hope it works out!
