Such a great experience here! The owner greeted us at the door with a lovely introduction & took several minutes to speak with us. We had the Sunday Supper which was delicious! The food was very fresh & healthy with perfect portion sizes. *overheard that children 5 and under eat free! We arrived for an early dinner around 5:00pm and... More

The food is locally sourced, the dishes are imaginative and delicious. And the atmosphere and service make it hard to leave. Perfect for dinner with friends, brunch with the girls, or a nice romantic dinner for two.

We chose this one while still on the interstate, not sure what to expect. We showed up road-weary and hungry, and the staff took care of us. The food was exquisite. I had the mushroom grits and he had the cheese plate appetizer, both of which were amazing. Our waiter was terrific. He'd heard about the lousy few days we'd... More

Local Roots is a popular eating establishment in the Grandin Area of Roanoke. Eclectic menu with farm to table items. Nice portions for delicious dishes. I've developed a fancy to the fresh oysters and Eggs Benedict. Well prepared and presented. Service is very good. Space is limited but worth it.

Took my wife, son and inlaws out to Local Roots for dinner and had a great meal. Ordered the charcuterie and mussels for appetizers. Broth was excellent in the mussels. Needed a little more bread to soak up the rest of the juice. For entrees we ordered the rabbit, the steak, and two of the Ciopini entrees. The rabbit was... More

We love places that serve fresh food. Definitely worth it. This place was jam packed on a Tuesday night! Glad we made reservations. Mike, our server was fantastic. We shared a salad, 6 oysters and a fresh pasta plate, total without tip was $52.00 without alcohol.

Great mixed drinks and wine, but the bar does not have much of an atmosphere and it is not really private, especially if you are sitting closest to the kitchen. I prefer a more intimate setting. It's located in Grandin Village, which is a quaint and rather eclectic section of Roanoke The menu changes daily and has unique choices; however,... More

in Roanoke's pocket of progressiveness, the Grandin Village neighborhood, Sunday brunch here was full of little girls in velvet dresses revving for a performance of The Nutcracker next door, well-heeled grandparents, and grapefruit mimosas. Dedicated to supporting the small-scale agriculture that surrounds the city, Local Roots' menu is seasonal and clever. We had a brassica fritatta chunky with cauliflower and... More

My husband and I dined here on a Friday night as we were passing through Roanoke. Thankfully, we made a reservation because the small restaurant was hopping! Happy hour until 6p...so, we were able to snag a couple of half priced glasses of wine. Farm to table concept. Small food menu but very well done. Extremely large wine menu though!... More
