Great restaurant in a cute quaint part of Roanoke. I had an amazing Mussels dish. The drinks were also good. Fresh farm to table food. If we are in the area again will revisit.

We have traveled from Kansas City to Bentonville, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, Asheville, and Roanoke and we have eaten well all along the route. Tonight's dinner at Local Roots was the best meal of the trip, and there have been many good meals! Many restaurants are good but I truly believe that this one is great - you have... More

I cook at the blue apron in salem and rarely get time to venture to near by restaurants. My fiance and I came bye for Sunday brunch. It was a packed house as presumed. The waiter was nice, knowledgeable and attentive. The lady had the French Toast with scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes. Needless to say she loved it! I... More

Coming from a Blue Apron cook, this is high praise as I feel the Blue Apron is a stellar restaurant. So glad you enjoyed AND appreciated the food. You understand the difference between made from scratch , seasonal food and shipped in and reheated food; it does cost more but then, as you say, it is definitely better. Thank you... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Roanoke area. It's in the Grandin Road area of the southwest city where there are several quaint shops, a Co-op grocery, a movie theater which shows an eclectic mix of popular and artsy films, several bars and restaurants, bookstore, pastry shop and other traditional business. Local Roots is a farm to... More

Amazing!!! Atmosphere, local food & drinks, service, staff... Food was delicious!! Butternut squash soup was the best I've ever had, the burger is awesome , as is the bread pudding. We will be altering our regular travel plans from now on to stop here.

Shared the artisanal cheese plate and the charcuterie with two friends for appetizers and then had the mussels for an entree while my friends both had the sword fish. The cheese plate was terrific and the variety in the charcuterie was great as well. I loved the Benton's bacon and the chicken liver mousse. Can't say the crackers were my... More

Oysters might be the best I've ever had. Fish and Chips were a revelation. Not only are their French fries homemade, they are made with local potatoes - making them also the best I've had. Their dishes aren't pretentious, but meals you've eaten before taken to whole new levels of delicious. Their service is extremely responsive and shows the highest... More

To say we had a great time is an understatement. We were a group of good friends from out of town who wanted to relax around the dinner table and catch up. From the moment we walked in we were treated like we were home. Our server, Rachel, made wonderful suggestions and laughed along with our banter. The manager checked... More

We made reservations on Open Table for 6:00pm and had to alter slightly as we had just arrived in town and were running a little behind. The request was well received and we were quickly moved to the time of our choice. You owe it to yourself to enjoy this Fantastic Farm to Table restaurant. We were greeted by smiling... More

Traveling from Georgia to west verginia and decided to go slightly out of the way to roanoke for a nice meal. Marvin our server was great. Our food was stellar! I've been a vegetarian for 14 years and the sweet potatoe sandwich was the best thing I've had in all of those years. I've lived in the Charleston, Cleveland and... More
