Spent 3 days in Roanoke and this was the best meal of our visit. Deserves to be ranked much higher than it actually is. Our family tried 8 different types of tacos, and all were fantastic. Prices reasonable and appreciate the safety-conscious staff.

Arrived at Tucos at 7:30pm, told that there would be a 25 minute wait, which we didn’t mind. One hour later, zero follow up from staff, or even ONE QUESTION whether we wanted drinks or food while waiting outside of their establishment till 8:30pm, which...we were FINALLY acknowledged and attended to. 8:45pm comes when the waitress comes out, “our kitchen closes in 15 minutes”. So basically, you want us out for waiting an hour, only to push us to order in 15 minutes? I ordered whatever $10 drink it was with coconut, which was just allllllll coconut, no triple sec, nothing. I dumped the drink out in disgust, and will not come back by myself OR a group. 1/10 would not recommend, just head over to Alejandro's Restaurant. At least there, we get treated like paying guests. We live in Roanoke County & love going down to Tuco's! Sometimes we go to the Big Lick Brewery across the street and order at the brewery -- and have it delivered to us. Love the convenience! Other times we eat at Tuco's and enjoy...a Tequila mixed drink with our tacos. The nachos are grea, toot! we love all the choices and ordering how we want our tacos made!! I love the Build Your Own: the shredded beef and the pork carnitas -- done Gringo style! And make sure you try the spicy carrot salsa!! We love adding a little to our tacos. I recommend you taste just a little of it so that you can judge how much to use -- It is on the spicy-hot side and some may not be able to handle it. I see many people ordering the salads, but we have not ventured into the salad menu because we love the tacos so much! Maybe next time we'll try a salad.More

Ordered from the brewery. Want to go to restaurant. What delicious tacos! And the cheese was unique but fabulous. Will come back and try again in the actual location.

We looked up restaurants online while traveling south on the Interstate. Tuco's had good reviews so we decided to stop for dinner. It is located about 10 minutes off the Interstate, but is easy to find with Navi. The tacos and various salsas/dips were good...and the tacos were excellent. Not cheap, but good value. Service is basic and could be better. We may stop again on our travels because of the food.More

Stayed one nite nearby. Used TA to review a few places for dinner. Decided on tacos. Easy to access and park. Modern take on Mexican food and decor. Ordered both margaritas and wine. Starter was the chips and spicy cheese dip. Salad was delicious and...tacos excellent. Fare value for the quality. Service was friendly.More

So nearly 12 days into road tripping things can get stale. I needed some guacamole stat!! This restaurant is downtown. We were able to find easy parking on a Wednesday night. I loved the interior, big booth and the music they played. Now for food....My husband had the seared tuna taco and two basic beef R’s is. He said they were great. I opted for the black bean taco and the portobello taco. Both were excellent! That guacamole fix......satisfied completely and their chips were great!!More

Our adult party of four were exploring the 'other side of Downtown' Roanoke when our friends suggested we come here to eat. According to our friends, the menu had changed from their last visit, and from the waitress, the new menu has been in place...since this past spring. It's fantastic! A wonderful selection of tacos to choose from or build your own. Our party had The Hillbilly, The Texan, Portabello, Black Bean and the Pork Carnitas. What was delightful was that each taco had its own flavor - this is not a case where a "base" taco simply switching toppings or ingredients. The ingredients were very fresh and unique to each taco and the flavor was outstanding. Another fun element was the decor - very creative and original: the murals were imaginative, the reclaimed wood for seating very inspired, the lighting, even the concrete dividers were fun. We were not in a position at that time to take advantage of the tequilas & mezcals but we will definitely be back to do so.More

Pros; friendly service. Good shrimp tacos, good cheese dip Cons: slow food service even with almost empty restaurant. Pork was sweet, too big chunks and taco was dry. Good prices, $27 for 3 people. Don't love sodas per bottle instead of free refillsMore

Looking to try something different while here on vacation and Tuco's Taqueria Garaje came up so we though let's give it a try. Mainly tacos on the menu along with chips and salsa, chips and queso, nachos etc. We ordered the chips and queso for...an appetizer and then my husband got the Hillbilly tacos and I ordered a fajita steak taco as well as chicken taquitos to share. The queso was really tasty and the chips were good-got a decent portion of chips. The tacos were good except a chicken bone in one of the taquitos the food was good. Would go back again!More
