Very disappointed in a recent birthday dinner with friends ordered seafood not cooked to the temperature as ordered waiter even acknowledged at end of meal, mashed potatoes barely warm, sub green beans hardly cooked. Birthday girl ordered a small cupcake that was stale for $3 or...$5 ,you think they would’ve comped that as a birthday gesture. I don’t mind paying the 4 1/2% surcharge to support a restaurant but it doesn’t seem like they put in any effort into preparing or serving food. Very underwhelmed!More

I ordered chicken and waffles for breakfast and my waffles were cold and my chicken was overcooked. I told the manager about my chicken and he offered some more chicken instead of a new breakfast, when I got the new piece of chicken it was...dangerously undercooked. Everyone should enjoy all of their food together. The only thing on my plate eaten was the eggs!!!More

I was at this restaurant today I was asked in a very rude manner for a manager for my personal information to the which I refuse she just walk away in a very rude manner, why I have to give my personal information if I...don't want to, and why they get upset for my refusal, I just was there to get some lunch. This manager needs to get in deep customer service training, sometimes some people are just in the wrong business. This is my second time at this location, which I deeply regret it, never will be back there.More

We reserved a table for 10 for a Saturday evening dinner to celebrate a couple of birthdays in our family. Everything was great in terms of safety measures with spacing and everything we ordered was delicious! It was just hard picking what to order as...the menu is huge. The service was great as well. We all enjoyed our food and drinks, and although there is no specific kids menu there are many kid friendly items while still being a place adults will enjoy. I would highly recommend the strawberry pisco sour.More

Horrible dining experience. Restaurant ran a brunch buffet in the far corner of the property, shuttling warmed-over food from it's upstairs kitchen past dozens of unmasked customers. The buffet had 7 serving stations manned by 4 employees, who scrambled about while dozens of customers milled...about waiting for food. No crowd control or service plan. Chaos on a Sunday afternoon. Never again.More

Enjoyed a celebratory HS graduation lunch at Founding Farmers in Reston, VA with the family. We chose outdoor seating on the patio, with proper social distancing rules being observed. Those of us "of age" enjoyed cocktails .. .I had a "Constitution" which consisted of dry...gin, chamomile, ginger, lemon, blueberry, and soda. Delicious! We also had a less-sweet Cape Codder -- Vodka, cranberry, rose wine, lime, orange, and soda. Great looking menu in terms of food -- I could have ordered 15 items and been satisfied by each -- lots of great flavors in evidence. We started with an Artichoke/Crab appetizer that was very rich and flavorful. I eventually close steak frites, which featured 3 beef medallions, fries, and perfectly cooked green beans. Others in our party had Cracker-Crusted Shrimp, Southern-Fried Chicken, and Herb Chicken Breast. All were pleased and would re-order their items. Prices seemed a bit high and there was a 4% Covid surcharge, but we were celebrating and the food was certainly delicious.More

I recently dined at Founding Farmers Reston Station for a work dinner. In anticipation of the dinner I checked the website and though that the menu was a bit limiting. When I arrived I was pleased that the the website was current with the active...menu but disappointed that there had not been a shake up in what was being offered. The establishment is nice, clean, and felt comfortable. I thought the waiter was excellent. Attentive enough without being too close. The cocktails were good and offered a nice selection but they were unfortunately slow to the table. Not a huge issue but there was a noticeable lag. We ordered some appetizers that were acceptable but the offered fare was peculiar. There didn't seem to be much that would be appropriate to share with the table (there was a dip that we ordered and it was fine). I ordered a chicken dish that I did not think met the standard that the restaurant suggested. It was extremely overcooked and the "spicy" version that I ordered simply had a side dish of some type of hot sauce. The side of mashed potatoes was a bit gluey without any punch and the greens did not have much twang either. Although my entree was overcooked there wasn't much that was critically wrong with the evening it just didn't seem to live up to the ethos of what the restaurant tries to accomplish nor did it really meet my expectations. I hope this place does well and I hope they can develop their menu so that it is more in line with the stated goals and interior design. I do think for the cost much of what I noted above should not occur.More

Went to Founding Farmers with my husband and another couple. We had made reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered some drinks, and it took a very long time for the drinks to come. This also happened to us the first time I was there....Seems their system is not working efficiently. This was my second time there, but it was such a disappointing experience. My husband informed the waitress that I was highly allergic to seafood, which is what we do at any restaurant. After a brief conversation the manager came to our table and said they could not guarantee my safety. She said "as you can see, we are very busy" and "I strongly recommend you eat elsewhere". I couldn't believe the indifference the waitress as well as the manager showed to my dilemma. I have had this allergy for over 2 decades, have eaten at hundreds of restaurants, always being assured my food will be cooked in a separate pan if necessary so there won't be any cross contamination. I can see if this had been predominately a place for seafood, but Founding Farmers has a very versatile menu with limited fish options. How much extra time would it take to prepare a steak in a pan instead of a shared grill?? They never even asked me what I was planning on ordering, and no, I did not order a steak. I felt so bad and lost my appetite. The ONLY reason I did not leave is because we had guests with us who drove from out of town just to eat there and I did not want to complicate things. However, I will never go back. And yes, I get it, Founding Farmers won't care, they'll be just fine and very busy without me. They will only be relieved having to deal with one less person with allergies. I am not one to complain, but this was one experience I won't forget and worth writing a review about.More
