My husband and I went here 2 days ago. We ordered 2 shrimp & grits, 1 side order of whiting fish and some home fries.
We got there food was ready. However it was stacked 3 Styrofoam containers high in a cheap little thank you...bag. The shrimp and grits seeped out of containers dripping all over the containers.
I asked my husband to take back in to see if they could wipe containers clean- the young lady at the counter was so rude and told him he needed to be careful- did not help him and made rude comments about how there were already napkins in the bag when he asked for additional to wipe the mess clean.
I went to speak to the young lady and made a suggestion about the container type they were using for a soup consistency shrimp and grits- she cut me off and stated have a good day extremely sarcastic.
We paid $46 and some change to be treated rudely and immediately having to clean up behind the poor bagging and poor container choice. The shrimp & grits tasted good- but the overall experience sucked because of the poor bagging and poor choice of container for the soupy shrimp & grits as well as the disrespectful customer service. Made us feel invisible like our contribution didn't matter.More
Kudos to the cooks!!! And they were cooks with a smile. Fish & grits, spinach omelets and more. I truly enjoyed this experience. Kennedy, with her down to earth service. The space is very clean and comfortable with a small patio for dining outside. Although...I did not have a mimosa, I witnessed others beautiful drinks as they were served. Awesome Ambiance. This is my first stop when visiting Portsmouth again.More
My husband and I are here visiting our Coastie. We decided to check out some antique stores in Olde Towne Portsmouth. The owner of one of the stores suggested we try this establishment. So glad we did! We love local restaurants and this definitely fits....Good drinks, delicious breakfast. I had the Lump Crab Benedict and my hubby had shrimp and grits. Yum!More
A few hours after eating their breakfast sandwich of eggs and sausage, I developed an upset stomach. My friend with whom I'd shared breakfast called me to say they experienced extreme nausea. They ate the blueberry pancakes with fried potatoes and bacon I believe. However, nothing...tasted off or unpleasant while eating. I actually enjoyed the food quite a bit. Can't explain it, no other food eaten prior to this breakfast. I just won't return here anytime soon.More
Quite possibly the best crab cake I’ve had on an eggs Benedict, and topping that off with great service from Vette, we will be back! One crab cake topped the Benedict, and the chicken omelette was tasty as well, although smaller than expected, both were...filling with a side of the potato hash. Great flavor! This place would be great for private parties as well.More
Went for breakfast this morning and we were ignored from the start. Took 10 to 15 minutes to get our drink order and then another 10 to 15 mins to get our food order even though we could see the cooks had no orders being...given to them. It took then about 45 mins for our food to come out. This only occurred because my wife had to go ask the wait staff who was either rolling silverware or watching TV is it was out food sitting under the warmers. Meanwhile our waitress was zipping all over taking orders and not paying attention to the ready food. Some of our food sat under the warmers for at least 20 minutes; my plate was on the counter, but not under the warmer. The food finally came and we got our first drink refills in 45 mins. I break the yolk on my egg and it is completely cold. I take a bite of the corned beef and it is completely cold. When the waitress comes back with refills I told her all of the food it cold and asked to get a new plate and she apologized and said yes. When my wife and daughter was done eating the manager came up with two fresh eggs. I told her I did not want any of it and I would go home and fix my own. It is amazing how most of the clientele was served, but some were not. I hope it was not to do with something more than just poor management.More
My husband found this place on Google and we were excited to try it. We got there and wanted to sit outside and we were seated right away. The gal told us there would be about a 5 minute wait. However it was longer than...that...we were getting to the point that we were going to leave when a gentleman came and took our orders. It took a while for us to get our drinks and food. Probably wouldn't recommend or go back.More
