Great little cafe with a good selection. Very helpful staff. We shared a stuffed baked kumara which was lovely.

Recently I had breakfast at the Waikokou cafe in the Waitangi Treaty grounds in Paihia. Over the past 10 years I have been to this cafe many time. There are some good aspects but always factors that totally let it down. The good: The food is above average. We had the eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached to perfection, the... More

We called here after our visit to Waitangi. Good coffee, huge pieces of cake, which the staff were happy to divide onto 2 plates, each with cream for no extra charge. Seating inside,on the decking and on the lawn. Very cheeky tame ducks!

We were all happy with our meals, very simple but nice flavours. Plenty of shade for hot or rainy days, coffee was good.

We visited this cafe for lunch. We had been the last time we were in Paihia and although not blown away by the food, thought we would give it another chance to possibly redeem itself! Alas! Not so! The cafe was VERY quiet - only a handful of patrons scattered around, however the service was extremely slow despite hardly anyone... More

I had been looking forward to a Waitangi experience for the first time and got it but this particular eating place I would not go back to as the service was grumpy and the food very ordinary for the prices. It is situated in a very desirable location and could be very good.

Set in the treaty grounds, the cafe has a nice view down to the stint beach, with indoor and outdoor seating There is a range of simple meal items, sandwiches, burgers pies etc etc as well as cold drinks, prices were reasonable for the location A nice place to sit in the sun after wandering around the grounds

Now re-named Whare Waka, this previously known as the Waikokopu Cafe in the Waitangi Treaty grounds is in a magical setting and was a favourite coffee-stop for us for many years. Hoping to re-kindle lovely memories, our group ordered scones and muffins that unfortunately did not taste all that fresh with the coffee being only average. The setting, however, makes... More
