This was our third meal at this establishment and while the food was good, the rest of the evening was a disappointment. The event was supposed to be a Christmas thank to staff. We arrived at the venue to find that there was a lack of Christmas inspired decorations, two small led trees and a handle of Cadburys favorites placed... More

Called I to this winery for a tasting and saw they had a restaurant so combined a wine tasting with lunch. The food was fabulous, the service excellent - the wine was pretty good too!

Such an amazing setting. . I would not hesitate to recommend this resturant to someone who is looking to sample a little of the local food and beverage seen. . This place does everything justice as well as cellar door sales to take away with you!!

We have commented about Ake Ake before on TA after a previous visit to The Vineyard restaurant, but would like to do so again to say just how great our recent visit was. Dining out at Ake Ake is not just about what you get to eat, but about the whole experience provided by the chef using top quality ingredients,... More

Have been here a few times and always find the staff friendly and welcoming. The food here is really delicious and there is something for children as well. If you have time a tasting is a must as the owner is very knowledgeable.

The rudest people we met in 10 days up north. Went in wanting a lunch and tasting, left without both!!

We were staying in Whangarei with friends who had been to the restaurant several times and they assured us it was worth the drive. It was! It was challenging to select a dish from the interesting menu. We did a wine tasting while we waited for our order. (Ake Ake has an interesting set of wines made from pinot gris.)... More
