Description: Bloom Restaurant is located just south of the beautiful Martinborough Wine...
Bloom Restaurant is located just south of the beautiful Martinborough Wine Village at Murdoch James Estate vineyard, one of New Zealand's most highly regarded Pinot Noir producers. Just 10 minutes drive from the town square and located in a stunning elevated setting with panoramic views, Bloom offers a range of dining options, or just a coffee and/or a glass of wine to relax with after an afternoon exploring nearby vineyards. Sit on the deck in the summer months and watch the river trickle by at your feet and the grapes growing nearby. Or, in Winter, sit indoors by the crackling fire, and enjoy a slow, relaxing meal. Our cuisine is always sourced locally and only the freshest ingredients are used. For a sample of our menu, check our website, or call for more information.

Very nice. Maybe over-rated

The setting and the view were wonderful. A short drive in the country, and a quaint road up a wee hill and over a stream, you arrive at lovely Bloom's overlooking the Martinborough plains. Beautiful big deck to sit on or inside if it's cool. The food was delicious, but the menu said raspberry and... read more

Went twice for lunch in 2015, once after an exhausting bike ride after underestimating the distance - it is not really bikeable from Martinborough! Short but varied and delicious menu, with kids' options and gluten free choices. Have a tasting beforehand to give you an indicator of what to have - they do an excellent range of splendid wines, especially... More

The restaurant is set in a beautiful rural setting, with a view over a portion of southern Wairarapa countryside. The ambience of the dining room is of a by-gone age. It has a large deck off one end, perfect for a lovely sunny Wairarapa day. On arrival it was suggested we may wish to partake in a tasting of Murdoch... More

I really wanted to like this place, set in the heart of vineyard country around the lovely town of Martinborough. Sadly a great spot was let down by poor service and a feeble attempt at the hard sell to do a wine tasting and buy some wine. We didn’t have a reservation and were told that a big party had... More

Thank you for your review. We are of course disappointed that your experience was let down by poor service. The Holiday period is a busy time, and unfortunately, we have been short-staffed. Although not an excuse for poor service, it does put pressure on those that do their best to provide for our guests and visitors. We do sincerely hope... More

An awesome place, they looked after our big group really well. We changed a few things last minute, but the professional team at bloom handled it with out a hitch. Great meal, great time, would recommend bloom to everyone.

When our guide book said this place was nice and had a view they weren't kidding! We did a bit of wine tasting first to find a wine or two to go with lunch and moved to the outside deck for lunch. They have a lovely dining room but when the weather is nice and sunny the deck is the... More

On a cold and wet southerly day we warmed up by the fire inside and then enjoyed some very special food. Fish, chicken and pork dishes were all impressive. Service was fine, too, with a special effort to deliver a non-alcoholic hot drink off the menu. The cheese platter made for a relaxed and tasty finish.

The weather was stunning two Sundays ago and that set us up for a perfect outdoor seating for a special birthday lunch. Party of 10 and everything was ready for us and we had consistent service from the same suave waiter! He was very professional with the table's inability to initially make decisions on what to eat, drink, etc. Food... More

We took some friends there for lunch recently and were advised at local Information Centre that it was worth a visit to the restaurant. The waiter was more than detached, I would say somewhat indifferent or even a little arrogant. The outside tables encapture the amazing views and well worth the visit to appreciate that. The food, well both at... More
