Worth the 30min drive out of Canberra city to this lovely old country house turned into a fabulous restaurant. Wife, daughter(vegan), and I enjoyed every dish. Highly recommend.

I am a little torn in writing this review. I had great expectations after seeing the menu online, but after driving an hour to Gundaroo, I was pretty disappointed to see that as a table of 12 we were only offered a selection of 3 entrees and 3 mains to choose from. This had not been discussed with the person... More

We had our wedding at the Grazing and we had the most wonderful night. The staff were amazing and everything went off without a hitch. Our guests raved about the food, the beautiful gardens where we had the ceremony and the gorgeous stone room where we had the reception. I would highly recommend the Grazing to anyone getting married or... More

I found the food overpriced, especially as it was lunch and not dinner for what you got, as did my husband. On the menu, it seemed like there were vegies with the dish but they were mixed up in the sauce, I think. The service was friendly and the setting very old colonial.

I have put off going to this restaurant for years. If you like historical buildings, cozy surrounds, and great food, then this is the place to go. This restaurant would be perfect in the middle of winter with the fires going, It also has a large space for private functions. Worth a visit!

The food was absolutely delicious. Lovely pressed duck with great textural crackling and herbs adding highlights. Beef flank main had nice depth of meaty flavour. Side of chips were better than average, but not outstanding. Service left alot to be desired unfortunately. We arrived shortly followed by 2 other groups. The MD took all of our names in one lot... Disappointing. Really nice country setting, very good food, and that's pretty much the positives. The days leading up to the wedding, we never felt comfortable working with the manager. They did the minimum to prepare, when you'd expect more when hosting a memorable event. The reception itself, the beer ran out before the wedding party arrived, the air conditioner struggled... We were at Grazing for our special dinner. Always a challenge in such hot weather (40C) the rooms were pleasantly cool. The meal and service were excellent and the barramundi was the best I've ever had.

When visiting Canberra take a detour to Gundaroo and have a meal at Grazing ( booking required ). It is an award winning charming restaurant in the historic Royal Hotel built in mid 1800's. The meals are delicious, the service is fantastic and the staff are friendly and helpful. I fell in love with this restaurant a few years ago.... More
