Had a very enjoyable experience at the Hula Grill. We were happy with the quick seating as I have had to wait for a table in the past. We sat at a table in the sand area but was on the pavers which we preferred. Our waitress was quick and friendly bringing us drinks and explaining food items we asked... More

We really enjoyed the food at the Hula Grill...fresh mahi sandwich was great! My daughter and I loved the Maui Cruiser, a virgin smoothie type drink. It tasted so fresh! The ambiance was great...outside overlooking Kaanapali Beach and the sidewalk at Kaanapali. Great service the first time. So so the second time we went, but we would definitely go back.

We ate here twice while staying at Kaanapali Beach. First time we ate on the bare-foot section, it was fun, the food and the service was great. The next time we ate in the dining room part. The service wasn't quite up to par that night. However my husband had one of the best steaks of his life, and my... More

This spot has always been a family stop on our many trips to Maui. The food is good and simple and even the 2 vegetarians in the family are happy with their choices. The fun is to be right on Kanapoli Beach and literally to have the sand under your feet.

Love the food. Husband and I ate here tonight. Made reservations for 8:15. Seated around 8:20. Had wow wow drink and ocean breeze iced tea. Both were good. I had seafood chowder which is in a light coconut peanut juice.Really good. Husband had seafood Carbanara. He said that was really good too. We shared a pineapple creme brulee. Service was... More

We ate at the Hula Grill three times this trip and finally succumb to their Hula Pie. We prefer The Barefoot Bar with palm frond umberellas and real sand floor. The staff is always friendly and even when it is packed the wait hasn't been long. Our dinners ranged from salad, hula burger to fish tacos and, of course, Hula... More

Meal started pretty average - the caesar salad and the Mai Tai were just alright. Maybe my taste buds were spoiled by the incredible "1944" cocktail that I had the previous night at Leilani's on the Beach (shout out to Maggie the bartender at Leilani's for the awesome 1944 which she prepared right in front of me). Turns out Leilani's... More

Let's see . . . the waiter started out great and it went downhill from there. Steak was seasoned perfectly and terribly overdone- the pasta dish was tasteless and bland. We were served and forgotten about- the busboy tried to fix it but it was too far gone by then. We later learned that the old Exec Chef has started... More

This is a great spot with incredible views, amazing food and super live entertainment. Enjoy the views and live music after some time shopping at Whalers Village by relaxing and cooling off with a cold pint of Bikini Blonde with your shoes off at the Barefoot bar. The service and food are both very good. We stop here every time... More

We have been coming to The Hula Grill for over 10 years. The Service is Terrific and The Food is Wonderful. Try the Coconut Seafood Chowder o the Mac Nut Encrusted Mahi Mahi. However "They" have removed "The Free Hula Pie" from the Hula Grill. What a Sad Day it is ..... It's like Mom charging me for The Dessert.... More

Description
On the water's edge on Kaanapali Beach, Hula Grill offers a stunning view of the Pacific and of the islands of Lanai and Molokai that has to be seen to be believed. From this distinctly Hawaiian vantage point, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the hospitality, culture and cuisine of the islands. Dinner is served in our open-air dining room where you can relax in the ambiance of a plantation era beach house while enjoying renown chef Peter Merriman's Hawaii regional seafood that isn't only a favorite of vacationers, but locals, too. Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce are combined to create amazing menu offerings that are as colorful as they are flavorful. Fiery sunsets are served up daily along with live Hawaiian entertainment.
Our Barefoot Bar offers a more casual menu serving both lunch and dinner under authentic thatch roof umbrellas and a sand floor where you can sink your toes in. The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis only.
