We had an amazing dinner at the Hula Grill. Wandering around Whaler's Village, we were able to get in for dinner. Served by the very capable Carol, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner. Food is exquisite and beautifully plated. We enjoyed fish and steaks, all prepared to our specifications. The open air atmosphere right on Kaanapali Beach can't be beat. Great... More

The food here was delicious! Our server was very friendly and attentive too. I really liked the live entertainment that performed while we were eating. It really added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The Hula Pie was AMAZING! I highly recommend this restaurant!

You will get a good meal at the Hula Grill. I'm giving it a 4 because it is very touristy but the food and location are good. Sit in the "barefoot bar" with your feet in the sand for a less expensive meal. The more formal dinner dinner go to the main dining room. The views at sunset is beautiful.

If there's a place that says sense of place this is it. Hula Grill sits in THE prime location on Maui's Kaanapali Beach. Cocktails are served to patrons with their feet in the sand. Dinner follows on the veranda for sunset watchers or inside if air conditioned posh works better. Regardless of who's in the kitchen fusion preps rule the... More

We were hungry, we were lost in the shopping area and with all the people we saw hanging around I figured our party of 8 was hours from a table. How wrong could I have been! They took us to the middle of the restaurant on the sand and seated us in 5 minutes. With 5 adults and a 16... More

Read reviews and their website before deciding to go. Talked about the great food, incredible view, and romantic setting. Nothing could be further from the truth. After being given a table on the patio with a view we were overrun by children who were playing on the lawn right beside us with their parents standing in front of us blocking... More

VERY kid oriented and not fine dining as other reviews would have you believe. We requested and booked a table to watch the sun set. What we got was 15+ kids running and screaming while the parents stood inches from our table, blocking our sunset view. We left after 45 minutes of screaming.

While this has long (20 years) been a favorite of ours just like Leilani's is....we found that Hula grill restaurant has gotten MUCH more expensive and with much smaller portions. The food is still always great, but the value is no longer there in dining room. we went back another night to listen to live music, watch the sunset and... More

Hula Grill nailed it. It seems like restaurants in great locations are usually high-priced and/or have bland food, but Hula Grill was an excellent balance of great food at normal prices, for the area anyway. Everything we had was delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere is laid-back and friendly, but also sophisticated in a way. You'll definitely love your experience... More

On the water's edge on Kaanapali Beach, Hula Grill offers a stunning view of the Pacific and of the islands of Lanai and Molokai that has to be seen to be believed. From this distinctly Hawaiian vantage point, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the hospitality, culture and cuisine of the islands. Dinner is served in our open-air dining room where you can relax in the ambiance of a plantation era beach house while enjoying renown chef Peter Merriman's Hawaii regional seafood that isn't only a favorite of vacationers, but locals, too. Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce are combined to create amazing menu offerings that are as colorful as they are flavorful. Fiery sunsets are served up daily along with live Hawaiian entertainment.
Our Barefoot Bar offers a more casual menu serving both lunch and dinner under authentic thatch roof umbrellas and a sand floor where you can sink your toes in. The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis only.
