Our family of five was visiting Balboa Island this past week. We decided on a whim to stop by this restaurant not sure what to expect. Seating was restricted to the outside where only a handful of tables could fit but we were warmly welcomed...and immediately seated at two tables put together for our group.
The server was impeccable. He also happened to be the host and greeter. But he took great care of us despite his many other duties. The food was delicious. I can't even suggest just one dish. We ordered five different things off the menu and the were all amazing. Personally though, I encourage going with a pasta entree over a pizza. Either way you will be pleased. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Balboa.More
We each ordered a cocktail, 2 splits and a red wine. Then one pizza, one salad, and one pasta. All to be shared. Everyone got a little of this and a little of that. Made the meal more interesting to say the least. Front row,...window seat, see and be seen.More
I guess this place will be the next one to close !! .we wouldn't know what the food taste like because although the menu says they close at 9 pm..we showed up at 7.45 pm for dinner on Sunday and they had already stopped serving..The...next day we called for take out pizza around 7 pm and again closed!! What's up with this place? We will never go back again !! Twice is enough , apparently they dont need the business. So we wont be giving them ours .we were told they had a new management and this is was they way they chose to run it. , all I can say is. Good luck ...More

I’m sorry to hear that your experience was so disappointing. Unfortunately, it looks like you may have been at the restaurant during the time the previous owners were still in operation. We now have new ownership as of March 1.
We welcome you...More
This place is SUPER popular on weekends and during tourist season, so be prepared to wait. Now, if you go mid week in winter this place is an absolute dream. You get tons of attention, not to mention great food at a reasonable price. This...place can be really noisy when crowded.More
Stumbled upon this little gem on a Saturday night when most eateries were full. Even though we had no reservation we were seated immediately.. even though the restaurant was full and larger groups were waiting for a table. Service was prompt and efficient. Took our...drinks and dinner orders since we were ready and hungry after our 7 hour drive. The pasta jambalaya had a kick and my eggplant parm was delicious. Too much food on the platter but everything was done well. The plates were pricey but not for the locationMore
I dined at this place for the first time last night with a couple of my friends. It is a very nice and cosy place to get pizza and other Italian food but does have some issues. I ordered a meal salad and before getting...half way through, I found a sizable piece of cardboard in my salad. I notified the manager who asked me if I wanted another salad or something else. Since I had lost my appetite I did not get anything else and the manager did waive the charge for the salad. I think this is a good place but the management needs to have a better quality control to make it even better.
In addition, while we were there, one of the customers at another table would frequently laugh extremely loudly every time she heard something funny at her table to the point when everybody at the restaurant would look at her with surprise or anger every time she would laugh. Unfortunately no one complained nor the management did any thing about it which made our dining experience even more disturbing.More
